{this moment} - A SouleMama Friday ritual. A single photo - no words - capturing a moment from the week. A simple, special, extraordinary moment. A moment I want to pause, savor and remember.

The Daffodil Festival

Yesterday, the girls and I, along with Mary and Molly, piled in to Mary's car (since we still have only one and Dave needed to use it) and headed to Connecticut to attend the Daffodil Festival in Meriden.  How it is that we had never been before is beyond me.  The town I grew up in was not far from Meriden, and they have been holding this festival for about as long as I have been alive, yet we knew nothing of it.  Crazy!  It was the perfect day for a road trip, and an even more perfect day for a parade and festival!
First stop:  Panera!

Bagels for us mamas, and Chocolate Chip Muffin Tops for the girls.

We're almost there.

Emma and I, ready to head to the parade.

The girls really got into the whole gather-the-candy-at-the-parade thing.
We came home with a ton!

First the Dunkin' Donuts Mobile, next the Buffet Bus!

Uncle Grant and Emma ready to head to the festival.

Grandpa and his buddy.

The girls had their first cotton candy ever at the festival.

Emma took the longest to even try it but once she did it was a hit (with both girls).

These two have a mutual love of dessert.

Off to the rides!
The weather was incredible, the ride to CT was super smooth and everyone had a fabulous time.
I think we may have just started a new tradition!
Have a wonderful rest of the weekend, friends.
We'll see you tomorrow.

The Doll and Teddy Bear Luncheon

On Wednesday, the girls and I got all dressed up and headed to the Wayside Inn for the Doll and Teddy Bear Luncheon.  It was the second year that they have held this wonderful event, and we were thrilled to be able to be there again.

If our computer that had the pictures from last years luncheon was not dead at the moment, I would post some pictures of the day.  Sadly, much like Dave's car, that computer has gone to the great computer graveyard in the sky.

So, without further adieu, here are some pictures from this years Doll and Teddy Bear Luncheon.

With Froggy and Bear in hand we headed out for our destination.

Eating corn muffins is a laughing matter.

The girls had lovely fresh fruit as their first course.

Followed by the Wayside Inn's incredible macaroni and cheese.
We moms had a choice of either grilled chicken or salmon on our salads.
I went with the salmon.  It was just as amazing as the mac and cheese.

Our friends Jennifer and Abigail came along this year.

Grace was thrilled to see her dear friend Abby!

Grace was in heaven with the ice cream sundae bar.
"Can I have more marshmellows, Mama?"

Playing with the Little House in the Prairie paper dolls.

Planting sunflower seeds.

After we'd had our fill of food and fun, we headed outside to the English garden to explore and play.

"Tag!  You're it!"

What a fabulous day, full of good friends, good food and wonderful memories.
Have a wonderful day, friends.
