June Wrap Up

Goodness, I am not sure that June could have flown by any faster if it wanted to! I am glad that I got to post a handful of times during the month

Sleepy  bun!

The roses were absolutely gorgeous this year (and smelled as wonderful as they looked)!
Recital was fabulous this year! So great to see our girls shine on stage again and to see this incredible (award winning!) production number three more times!

And then, of course, there was this ruling, which just left us speechless and heartbroken.

We were thrilled to get to see Rob, Jen and the kids on their way back from Maine! Oh, how we wish they lived closer so we could do this more often!
We went strawberry picking on June 26th, which might be the latest we have ever picked. We didn't think we'd even get one quart out of the deal but were pleasantly surprised that we were able to pick two quarts worth!
We closed out June with dinner at the Wild Hare. It was their first night of dinner service, and what a dinner it was! We are still dreaming about all the wonderful food we had there, especially the chicken!

Looking forward to seeing what July has in store for us! xo

Friendsgiving

These sweet girls have dinner together every Tuesday night after dance team practice and before lyrical. This week we moms thought it would be fun to organize a friendsigivng meal for them! They had such a blast and have asked to do a meal like this once a month for the rest of the dance year! I love this sweet group of girls (and their mamas) so much! So very thankful for our dance family! xo

Yesterday In Hartford

Yesterday we gathered with some of our most favorite people for Hawktoberfest (the University of Hartford's alumni and parents weekend). Rob was in town for his twentieth reunion, Dave was there for the 20th anniversary of the Physical Therapy program and all the guys were off to a Sigma Nu event that night.
These guys all  have a piece of my heart. It is my hope that one day Grace and Emma are blessed to have some amazing guy friends in their life. From the moment I met each of these gentleman I knew that they would always look out for me (and they still do) and for that I am eternally grateful.
You're never too old for a balloon animal.
 Howie!
A lot has changed since we graduated (like we have kids) and yet so much has stayed the same (like the friendships)!
Hangin' on the steps at Harry Jack Grey while Dave and Paul chatted it up with various people.
Two Delta Gamma sisters, three legacies and  one anchormen!
Trying out the super cool new lab in the Physical Therapy department.
GSU didn't look like this when we were at Hartford! Dave worked as a building manager at the student union so I couldn't resist a picture of him and the girls and this massive sign.
Rob and I have been friends for more than half our lives (twenty-three years to be exact). He's the older brother I never had and one of my best friends. I am so grateful for his friendship, and I am even more grateful that he insisted on a picture of us yesterday (I think we haven't taken a picture like this since my wedding day, sixteen years ago)! Strolling through the village with Rob, Frank and Pomp (while Dave was at his PT reception), reminiscing and telling all sorts of stories to the girls was the perfect way to end our visit to campus. Our twenty year reunion will take place next year at Hawktoberfest, so we all have an excuse to gather together again on campus for another fun filled day of reconnecting! Let the countdown begin! xo

Day Nine- One Last Adventure

New York Harbor. 4:45am Sunday November 26th.
Our wonderful adventure has come to an end. We'll happily carry all these memories with us for the rest of our days, but the entire trip went by way to quickly! Oh, and that's what you get when you ask Grace to "pout". The poor thing can't help but smile even when she's sad!
We docked near the Norwegian Breakaway. We watched this massive vessel being built on Mighty Ships and she was even more impressive to see in person!
Since we were arriving back in New York City while the Downton Abby exhibition was in town, we decided that we might as well get tickets to see it that day. Lunch with Frank and Brady was the perfect addition to our day in New York City. Good food with good friends after an amazing vacation really was the cherry on top of this sundae!
Before we entered the exhibit we were told to take as many pictures as we wanted! What a lovely invitation, and one that I didn't mind accepting at all! After all, it's not often that a special event like that invites you to do so. Below are a few of my favorites. The entire thing was lovely and we highly recommend seeing it if you are in the area while it's here.
We spent a couple of hours soaking in all the beauty of Downton. The only way it could have been any better would have been for us to actually be at Highclere Castle. It was lovely to be transported back to Downton Abby before journeying back to Massachusetts. An absolutely perfect ending to a truly perfect vacation! xo
