On Father's Day

On Father's Day we took Dave out for lunch at The Lost Shoe. It's one of our favorite places and they were having a special taco truck lunch that day so we couldn't pass that up!

On our way back from lunch we noticed that the street in front of IC was closed and that there was soemthing on it. We went over to investigate and discovered this mural, which was made out of colorful sawdust!

It was gone the next day, which was kinda sad. All that work and it wasn't there all that long! It was really cool to get to see it though!
Well, me and Dr. Beatty and our wonderful infertility nurse Shelley! 😂

Love when we get the chance to celebrate our most favorite guy! Happy Father's Day, Dave! So grateful for you and all you do to make this incredible life of ours possible! We love you! xo

Happy Father's Day!

On this Father's Day, we would like to take the time to honor all the amazing, hands-on dads that we are fortunate to count among our friends, but most importantly I would like to take a moment to honor my dad, David and David's dad. Three men who are quietly strong and our biggest champions. For without these men, life as I know it would not be possible. It is due to their hard work and dedication to their families that we are able to live this absolutely incredible life.

To David: I am so honored to be your wife, your best friend, the mama to your children and your all around partner-in-crime. Thank you for all the diapers you changed, the boo-boos you bandaged, the babies (and toddlers!) you wore, the tears you dried, the costumes you have steamed and the dance competitions and recitals you have sat through. Thank you for all the meal you have made, the dishes you have done, the stories you have read, the games you have played and the adventures we have taken. Thank you for the rooms you have painted, the gardens you have planted and tended, the projects you have helped with, the things you have repaired, the walks you have taken. Thank you for the laughter, love and friendship and thank you for embracing and supporting each of my ideas no matter how crazy they may be and for being my biggest cheerleader and live-in coach during bikini comp prep! The girls and I are the luckiest ladies on earth! We love you! xo
P.S. I know I shared this picture yesterday though I really should have waited to share it today along with this message!

On Father's Day

Some dads spend Father's Day kicking back and relaxing. Some, like this guy here, use it to get some projects done. At least he chose a project (painting our bedroom) that involves being inside where it's cool on this hot day! Thank you, David, for all you do for all of us! We are so very grateful and wouldn't want any other guy to be the blue in our house of pink (or purple in this case)! Happy Father's Day to all the dads that we connected to. It's an honor to know each and every one of you! xo

Celebrating Father's Day

Today's celebration began at Rail Trail Flatbread Company's Flapjacks and Flatbreads event. Delicious food (that breakfast flatbread was amazing!) and all the proceeds went to The Boys and Girls Club! A win win if there ever was one!
Since the girls wanted to get Dave a "dance dad" shirt we decided to kick off Father's Day a day early so he could wear it to the recital. Cards and the shirt (seen below) was given to him yesterday morning. The shirt, as we suspected, was a hit all around!
It reads: The DanceFather. I don't dance, I finance!

Grace, Emma and I are so lucky to have this guy as our biggest fan, We are so grateful for his hard work and dedication to our family, and for all he does to make this incredible lifestyle we live possible! Thank you, David, for the countless hours that you have spent changing diapers (back in the day) to steaming tutus and costumes for competitions and recitals (present day) and everything in between!  Thank you for your love, sense of humor, hard work and belief in all of us that has allowed us to be the kind of family we are today. Thank you for the being the papa to my youngins! There's no one else I'd rather be on this amazing journey with! xo

On this Father's Day we would like to take time to honor all the amazing, hands-on dads that we are fortunate to count among our friends and family, but most importantly the girls and I would like to take a moment to honor my dad, David and David's dad. Three men who possess a quiet strength, lots of wisdom and so much love for their families (those they created as well as those that they were born into). They are our biggest champions, and without them life as I know it would not be possible. It is due to their hard work and dedication that we are able to live these amazing lives. Thank you, gentlemen, for all you do. We are truly blessed beyond measure. xo

On Father's Day

On this day (and everyday) we are so eternally grateful to David for all he does to make this extraordinary life possible. He is truly an amazing man. Quietly strong and our biggest champion he is my best friend and all around partner-in-crime. I am so honored to be his wife and the mama to our two sweet girls. He is a true partner; doing everything and anything that needs doing. From changing diapers (back in the day) to cooking meals, taking care of the house, putting laundry away and helping the girls. The list is long and varied. Simply put, he is the type of husband that all women should have, and I am so proud that he is mine. Thank you, David, for all that you do, for all that you are, for loving us and encouraging us and supporting us no matter how crazy the ideas are. We love you and are so proud you are our blue in this house of pink. Happy Father's Day! XOXO

In Celebration Of Fathers

My Daddy and I in 1978.
David and his girls in 2011.
Hard at work (with a little help from the Ponies, 2012).

"On this day we would like to acknowledge and honor all the fathers who understand the importance of their presence in a child's life. Who know that it is more than "providing" for the child. it is about being present to the everyday joys and struggles. It is about loving your children for who they are, dreaming of what they will be and accepting that the role is to guide not control. When a child has that love from a father, the world is a better place. Thank you to all the wonderful fathers we know."
-As found on the toLabor Facebook page (toLabor is the organization I became a doula through).

On this Father's Day I would like to take time to honor all the amazing, hands-on Dads that we are fortunate to count among our friends, but most importantly I would like to take a moment to honor my Dad and David.  Two men who are quietly strong and our biggest champions.  For without these two men life as I know it would not have been possible. It is due to their hard work and dedication to their families that we are able to live these amazing lives.  Just like the quote above says it's about being present and guiding the children to reach their ultimate potential.  And really, that sums up my Dad and David beautifully.

To David: I am so honored to get to be your wife, best friend, mother of your children and your all around partner in crime.  Thank you for all the diapers you have changed, boo-boos you have bandaged, babies (and toddlers!) you have worn, tears you have dried, mani-pedis you have given and jokes you have told.  Thank you for all the meals you have made, the dishes you have done, the stories you have read, the games you have played, the adventures you have taken and the Legos you have built.  Thank you for the laughter, love and friendship and thank you for embracing each of my ideas no matter how crunchy they are!  I am easily the luckiest girl on Earth!  XOXO
