{This Moment} Painting Valentines

{This Moment} - A Soule Mama Friday ritual. A single  photo - no words- capturing a moment from the week. A simple, special, extraordinary moment. A moment I want to pause, savor and remember. If you are inspired to do the same, leave a link to your 'moment' in the comments section for all to find and see. We wish you a wonderful, love filled Valentine's Day weekend! xo

Valentines By Emma

Our sweet Emma spent the majority of this past week feeling crummy. It started with a cough that we were sure was going to end up as croup (it never did), next a fever showed up (which hung around for a good few days) and finally it was discovered that an ear infection was on the horizon. A few doses of garlic ear oil and she's much, much improved, though the cough continues to linger. Since her fever hadn't broken before Friday morning she wasn't able to go to the Girl Scout meeting that afternoon. Though she was sad to miss out on the fun things going on at the meeting she decided that it would be the perfect time to make valentines.
 First up- one for me.
Next on the docket: one for Grace.
She spent quite a long time working on her valentine for Grace. Every choice was just perfect, right down to her sweet "I love you" message that she was so proud to write. I just love how much Grace and Emma adore each other and how it shows through in every thing they do for each other.
And, of course, valentine for papa.
These steam radiators really are just fabulously handy! They're great for drying boots, hats and mittens, getting dough to rise and even drying all sorts of projects (including valentines). I'm pretty sure we'd be lost without them! xo

With Love, From Grace and Emma

It's hard to believe that Valentine's Day is less than one week away!  With that in mind, we figured we'd better get crackin' at makin' this years Valentines.  So that is exactly what we spent this afternoon (and most likely every afternoon for the rest of the week) doin'!

Makin' Valentines

Today we began making Valentines.  When I was a teenager I used to babysit for this fabulous family in my hometown and they would make each other Valentines each year.  Ever since then I have been looking forward to starting that wonderful tradition with my own children, and this year felt like the perfect year to begin. The girls are at great ages, and if we start now then it will be something that they always remember doing, and hopefully something that they look forward to each year.

This is sure to be a multi-day task, and with Valentine's Day less than a week away it seemed like we had better get started before it was too late.  We need to make 15 to bring to the Valentine party on Thursday, and then of course there are Valentines that need to be made for each other too!  We got all the supplies out and got to work.

We hope that your week is off to a good start.  Ours had a wee bit of a rocky start this morning, but working on the Valentine's helped to put us all in better moods.  It's amazing how creating with red, pink and white paper can lift the spirits!
Have a wonderful rest of the day, friends.
We'll see you tomorrow.
