The Work Of Christmas Begins

When the carols have been stilled,
When the star topped tree is taken down,
When family and friends have gone home,
When we are back to our schedules,

The work of Christmas begins!

To welcome the refugee,
To heal a broken planet,
To feed the hungry,
To build bridges of trust,
Not walls of fear,
To share our gifts,
To seek justice and peace for all people,
To bring Christ's light to the world.

Today we celebrated the arrival of the three kings and the end of Christmas. Two of our three trees are down (the living room one we're waiting to take down until it warms up at least to zero as it won't be so brutal to get it outside) and we are ready to fully return to our regularly scheduled programming. Morning lessons will begin again on Monday, and we'll continue to live the work of Christmas too (as we always do)! Happy Epiphany to all who celebrate! xo
