The Wisdom of Grace Elizabeth

Since Dave and Emma went to Wegmans this morning to do the weekly food shopping, Grace and I decided that we'd head out for breakfast. We sat there chatting and eating and taking in the world around us, and then, after a quiet moment, she says to me: "You know mama, the world planned for us to be together."

This sweet soul never ceases to amaze me and I am truly honored that the world chose me to be her mama. Thank you world for planning for us to be together. I am forever grateful. xo

Popovers For Breakfast

Last night as I was catching up on blogs and email and Facebook I came across this recipe for popovers. It's from the blog of one of the mamas in our Girl Scout troop and it sounded so delicious that I knew that we had to make them for breakfast this morning. Grace and I worked together to get the batter all mixed up and then she did a super job getting it into the muffin tins.
 Don't they look amazing?!
We split them open and put a dollop of raspberry jam on the inside. Truly delicious! We enjoyed these along with some yogurt (for the girls) and cottage cheese (for me) and juice. A lovely breakfast and definitely one that we'll be making again and again. xo

Saturday

Waffles (made by Dave) to start our day followed by a butterfly adventure this afternoon.  Sounds like a good way to spend a Saturday to me!

Weekending

Baklava Sundae from the Greek Festival.
Grace's latest artwork.
Baklava: It wouldn't be Labor Day weekend without it.
