Yesterday was the last day of dance camp for Emma. Since this week of camp was Frozen themed all the girls came dressed in their Frozen finest. They all looked fabulous and danced just as beautifully! Sadly, when Grace and I arrived for the show the only spots that remained were on the complete opposite side of where Emma was dancing so we weren't able to get any pictures of her during the performance. She danced as beautifully as always, and is looking forward to next summer (her first of full day dance camp) already! xo

A Note From Grace
A lunchbox love note from Grace to Emma. A lovely surprise for her on this, the third day of, dance camp. xo

Of Tooth Fairies, Carousel Horses and Packing
Yesterday, in keeping with her tradition of loosing her teeth everywhere but at home, Emma lost a tooth after church. She was playing with her friends when her tooth fell out and much excitement ensued. She woke up this morning covered in glitter ("Purple glitter this time, mama!") and with some new treasures in her tooth box and a note from her tooth fairy, too!
And as if waking up covered in purple glitter and with treasures from the tooth fairy wasn't enough, it was also the first day of dance camp for Miss Emma! Could this day be any more fabulous?!
While Emma was off at dance camp Grace and I went on our first Grace and Mama Adventure of the week. First up: a ride on the local carousel!
Followed by the packing up of the kitchen in preparation for the interior painting that starts tomorrow.
And since we're run out of room to store things in (and want to have access to a few key small appliances) we've decided to put our lovely claw foot tub to good use during this phase of the renovations!
After dinner tonight, Emma donned her pink toolbelt and hardhat to help David with the wall in the upstairs bathroom. While they were repairing the wall, Grace and I continued with the last bit of packing that needed to be done in preparation for tomorrow. We were all pretty tired by the end of the day, but we were also so very happy with how much we got done and with how much fun we had in the process! xo

In Which Emma And Mama Go To The Market
We took a break from our packing on Thursday for our Emma and Mama Adventure. It was a gorgeous day and absolutely perfect for a trip to the Farmer's Market!
After our adventure we went in search of some boxes but every where we went no one had any. It was such a treat when Sarah texted to let me know she had three (no, four!) empty Rubbermaid bins we could borrow!

Another Day, Another Adventure
Craft Day at the library (followed by a trip to the mall to choose birthday presents for David and Grace) made for the perfect Emma and Mama Adventure yesterday!
We arrived a little bit early to pick Grace up from dance camp and got to see a bit of the musical theater dance they were working on! What a treat!
Yesterday morning I had to run to Target before dance camp so Dave packed Grace's lunch. I love how he added on to my note from the day before!
Ready for camp (and looking like an older girl all of a sudden). This mama cannot take how fast the days, months and years are flying by! Nine is on the horizon! xo

In Which Emma And Mama Go To The Lake
Yesterday was Grace's first day of full day dance camp! And while she was a little nervous about what it would be like to be somewhere from 9:00-3:00 she was super excited too (or"nervouscited" as she says). Since she's off having a blast with her friends and dancing her heart out Emma and I decided to take this week to do all sorts of fun Emma and Mama adventures! Our first adventure was a trip to the lake. We met up with a couple of friends that we had not seen since April break, and the girls played while we mamas chatted. It was divine, and a most fabulous way to kick off Emma and Mama's Week of Adventures!
Heading home after a fun day at the lake.
With Grace being at camp for a full day each day a lunch and snack are needed. We picked up a fun new lunchbox for her over the weekend since the last one we bought for her (four years ago now) was definitely ready to be retired. I packed her lunch Monday morning while she was getting dressed and included a sweet little note for her to find during snack time. She was super curious about what I had packed for her, but we wouldn't let her peek before we left the house!
Her first day of camp was beyond fabulous (though she did come home super, super tired) and our first day of adventuring was wonderful, too! It is very strange to be without our Grace for so long, but Emma and I are completely treasuring this extra time we have together, too! xo

Last Day of Dance Camp
Friday brought with it the end of dance camp and with that the chance to perform. The older girls helped the younger girls with their hair and make up (Emma's pony tail and Grace's bun were perfect!) and three dances were performed. All the girls did a fabulous job (and clearly had a lot of fun too)! Many thanks to the stellar teaching staff at CSDS for another fabulous week of dance camp! We can't wait for the new year to begin in just a few weeks! xo

Dance Camp Begins
And so it begins! The long awaited week of dance camp has finally arrived. Our tiny dancers were so excited that they could barely focus on breakfast this morning! Have a wonderful time, girls! We cannot wait to hear all about it your first day! xo

{This Moment} After Dance Camp
{This Moment} - A Soule Mama Friday ritual. A single photo- no words- capturing a moment from the week. A simple, special, extraordinary moment. A moment I want to pause, savor and remember. If you are inspired to do the same, leave a link to your 'moment' in the comments section for all to find and see. We wish you a delightful weekend!

Dance Camp!
This week the girls will be spending each morning at dance camp. There they will learn three dances (ballet, tap and jazz) and do an art project, all of which will be presented in a little show on Friday. The girls were happier than a camel on Wednesday when they woke up this morning! From the moment they got out of bed they had their dance bags with them and they only left their sides once we arrived at their dance school. They were so excited to get to meet their teachers and the other girls that will be with them all week. They had been looking forward to the arrival of this day from the moment we signed them up for dance classes for the fall. This is a different school than they danced at last year but from the very first moment that I spoke to one of the directors I knew it would be a much better fit for them (and for our family). They came with me to sign up for dance lessons and from that moment on they have been asking when classes begin. It was lovely to be able to tell them that they had a week of dance camp to look forward to before their classes began in the fall! They happily went with their teacher today as if they had been dancing at this school for eons already. A hug and a kiss good-bye and they were off and so was I. I have to admit that it was rather strange for me to be without my favorite sidekicks for three hours today! I found stuff to pass the time though and before I knew it it was time to pick up my favorite girls and hear all about their morning. And just as I'd imagined they didn't stop talking about dance camp from the time I picked them up to the time they went to bed. Clearly, a good time was had by all!
