On My Birthday Eve

These gorgeous flowers and lovely book are from my soul sister/birthday twin Jannine for our birthday tomorrow! The girls and I had a wonderful time going to the flower farm today to pick up this sweet bouquet she ordered for me. The farm is about fifteen minutes from our house and run by the sweetest family. If anyone ever needs a gift idea for me I would always be happy to have a bouquet from Five Fork Farms! And I am looking forward to getting lost in this book as soon as I am done reading the Rachael Lucas book that I am currently working my way through! Thank you Jannine for always making our birthday so very special! xo

Sunday Flowers

Each Sunday when we go to the farm to get that week's produce and eggs we've also been selecting a new bunch of flowers. The buckets in the farm stand are full of such beautiful blooms and we simply cannot pass up to opportunity to bring some home each week. There's just something so lovely about having fresh flowers in the house. Plus, it's just another thing to use all these lovely mason jars for! xo

A Marvelous Monday

Today we spent the day catching up with friends we hadn't seen in about a year.
It was divine to spend the day at the lake with our friends.
Sitting there chatting with Emily while the kids played was truly the perfect way to start the week.
On our way home from the lake we happened upon a group of wild turkeys hanging out in the street. It flashed me back to growing up in Bethany where wild turkeys were often crossing streets (in addition to pigs and sometimes cows). A taste of small town life in my not so small town was lovely.
This sweet bouquet was brought to us by our sweet friends.
I can't help but smile every time I pass by it.
It's the perfect addition to our nature table and a lovely reminder that no matter how long you go between visits good friends can always pick up right where they left off. Thanks for spending the day with us, friends and making the start to our week simply fabulous! xo

A Visit To The Oreo Cows

Our Sunday was a super busy one. So busy that it will take me a total of three blog posts to share all of the fun with you!  Today we bring you pictures from our lovely visit to the oreo cows!
"Look, mama!  A daisy!"
"Hi cows!"
The field of buttercups was just breathtaking!

Our Week

With the craziness of trying to buy a new car, blogging sadly, went by the wayside last week.  We had a good week, all in all. A little more emotional and drama filled than normal, but a pretty good week nonetheless.  Thankfully, my Mom was able to come up and provide some relief (and a second car when needed).

Our week consisted of:
Emma finally getting to hold a baby.

Getting caught eating play-dough.

Playing dress up.

Snack.

Checking out the new treats Gramma brought for the dress up bin.

Watching Dancing With The Stars.

Snuggling with Gramma.
A fabulous way to start the day!

Taking a moment to remember what it is we stand for.

Playing hide and seek.

Dancing on bubble wrap.

And the highlight of the week:
Bringing home our new car!

Saying good-bye to the old and hello to the new.

Heading out for our first family trip in the mini,  a BBQ at our friends Justin and Amanda's.
A fabulous way to spend a gorgeous evening.

"Mama!  The blooming blooms are beautiful!"

Exploring.

Hanging wash on the clothesline for the first time this season.

The weather today was too beautiful to pass up!

Finding wishing flowers.

And mowing the lawn.

The moral of our week:
Remember to take time to smell the "blooming blooms".
Spend some time outside.
Celebrate all the wonderful blessings in your life (even when life gets challenging).
Enjoy the rest of this amazing weekend, dear ones.
We'll see you tomorrow.

It's a Beautiful Day!

Our day began with some investigating, as all good days inevitably do.

And then some soup making.

Which then turned into the beginnings of mud pie making.

That is until it was noticed that the tulips had opened.

And it was then that this mama realized she had a 'foliage' function on her camera.
Truly delightful!

It was, of course, only a matter of minutes before they were picked and formed into a bouquet.

And as we were heading in for lunch we noticed that there were young lilacs on the tree!

Such a beautiful day.
Enjoy!
