In The Strawberry Field

Our adventure this afternoon was to our beloved farm (now Cordelia's formerly Indian Head) to do some strawberry picking. And while this was the latest we have ever picked we managed to come away with a quart of berries! We are so glad that we were able to make this part of our usual rhythm happen this year even with all the changes (of me working and the girls being camp counselors for the first time this summer)! xo

Membership Has It's Privileges

This weekend CSA members were invited to come to the farm and do some strawberry picking before the fields are open to the public next week. With a gorgeous day and the chance to get in the fields before the rest of the world we couldn't possibly pass up the opportunity to go to the farm and do some strawberry picking. And while it was lovely to be back in the fields it was super weird not to be able to eat any berries as we picked! Of course, we had to sample a few as soon as we got to the car! The berries are as delicious as they are gorgeous! xo

From kicking off my day at bootcamp with one of my most favorite instructors, to strawberry picking with my two most favorite girls, to the Scandinavian Midsummer festival, to the glorious weather, to ending our day with strawberry shortcake everything about this day was absolute perfection! Happy Midsummer, friends! We hope your day was just as wonderful!  xo

Pumpkin Carving

The pumpkins are carved and ready to go to the farm for the pumpkin carving contest!
Each year Indian Head Farm does a beautiful jack-o-lantern display. This year was the first year they have held a pumpkin carving contest and anyone who entered was invited to have their carved pumpkins included too!
The girls were the only two who entered.
After we stood in awe of the gorgeous pumpkins we were invited inside to hear the results of the contest.
The girls were both given awards! Each girl received a canvas Indian Head Farm bag (we bought one last year and absolutely LOVE it), Indian Head Farm t-shirts, gourds, candy and a $25 gift card (to share)! We were incredibly blown away by the generosity of the Wheeler family!
What a fun way to be part of this display that w have always loved and enjoyed! We told them that we hope the contest continues for years to come! xo
