Yesterday In The Tulip Field

Yesterday was Ferjulian's opening day and with that the beginning of pick-your-own tulips as well! Emma was worn out after a full week of drivers education class (9:00am-3:30pm every day) so she stayed home to rest which equalled a Grace and Mama adventure. It was a gorgeous day to be picking tulips and I am glad that we went toward the end of their day as I can imagine it was rather crowded earlier.

We agreed that we love that Ferjulian's has a tulip field since it's so close to us, but our favorite place to pick tulips is at Wicked Tulips flower farm in Rhode Island. They have a wider variety of tulips and much larger show garden (and husband of the husband and wife team that own the farm is originally from Holland). Regardless, it was the perfect way to spend a Friday evening! xo

Yesterday

Some days just call for ice cream, and yesterday was certainly one of those days!
So grateful to have had this sweet soul join me on my walk yesterday. Twenty-three days until I can once again share a milk shake with her! xo

Our Night Owl

We have one night owl and one early bird. This works beautifully since it means that there are certain times where they are guaranteed their own time with their Papa and I.  Last week, in the midst of having a lot going on, Grace and I found ourselves sitting on the front porch after Emma had gone to sleep. Dave was not yet home and the night was perfect. We sat in the rocking chairs, surprised to be needing something on our arms on the last day of July (we have just adored the weather this summer!) and while we sat there we basked in the glow of the pretty candles, looked at the stars and chatted. The world was peaceful and calm and our time on the porch was truly divine. I'm so glad to have time like that with each of the girls. I love that we have that time together. The conversations that we have, the questions asked and the dreams shared are some of my most cherished. xo
