Yesterday In The Tulip Field

Yesterday was Ferjulian's opening day and with that the beginning of pick-your-own tulips as well! Emma was worn out after a full week of drivers education class (9:00am-3:30pm every day) so she stayed home to rest which equalled a Grace and Mama adventure. It was a gorgeous day to be picking tulips and I am glad that we went toward the end of their day as I can imagine it was rather crowded earlier.

We agreed that we love that Ferjulian's has a tulip field since it's so close to us, but our favorite place to pick tulips is at Wicked Tulips flower farm in Rhode Island. They have a wider variety of tulips and much larger show garden (and husband of the husband and wife team that own the farm is originally from Holland). Regardless, it was the perfect way to spend a Friday evening! xo

The lilacs have been particularly gorgeous this year (the colors are so, so vibrant) and they smell just as incredible!!! If ever there was a scent for the month of May lilac would be it! xo

Today was an absolutely perfect spring day made even more perfect by getting to spend some of it picking tulips in the tulip field at Ferjulian's! What a lovely start to our week! xo

Blooming

Grace took these pictures today of the first few tulips that have bloomed in our new spring bulb garden! We ordered an assorted mix from Wicked Tulips Flower Farm last year and cannot wait to see what kinds/colors come up! xo

Waldorf Kids In Spring

I loved capturing this sweet moment of the girls today working on their nature paintings for their art lesson this week. I just love that they love being outside and that they will often choose to do their lessons out there, or attend their class Zoom calls outside. They truly are Waldorf kids through and through! xo

In Which We Decorate The Osterbaum

The weather on this first weekend of spring could not have been any more delightful! And with such gorgeous weather here, and Easter two weeks away, we decided that it was time to decorate the osterbaum. Last  year, we started this lovely tradition as a way to bring more of the customs and traditions of our German heritage into our family but also to  bring some joy to the world that was so newly in the pandemic. The tree was so completely charming that we knew this was a tradition that must stick (and one day I would love to have enough eggs that our osterbaum looks like this one)! Happy spring, everyone! xo

On Easter Sunday

What a glorious Easter Sunday! Amazing weather, a beautiful worship service, lots of time spent outside, Easter baskets filled with all sorts of new favorite things ("The fairies are the best, mama!") new additions to their fairy village (thanks Gramma Terri and Grandpa Gene!), and a very delicious meal made for an absolutely perfect day! xo
