The End Of Last Week

Though I had all intentions of putting many of these pictures up sooner (and in separate blogposts) the days have been flying by at warp speed that they seem to end before I get a chance to do so. Instead of trying to play "catch up" and getting further behind I thought I'd share our last several days in one blogpost instead!

Backing up to Thursday and the arrival of our wonderful new stove! After almost eight weeks of cooking outside we finally have the ability to cook in the kitchen again! It is truly fabulous and such a treat!
With the stove being installed in the kitchen, and the kitchen table and dinning room table covered in all sorts of things, Emma found a pretty good spot to do her lessons!
The stickers from the front of the stove found a new home on Miss Emma!
Our gorgeous new stove! I have wanted a gas stove since we bought the house (almost fourteen years ago!) and am so thrilled that this dream is finally a reality! In the words of both of the girls:
"This is the stove we will learn to cook on!"
Saturday was Grace's initiation into Rainbow Girls!
She had been looking forward to this day since the day we saw Sarah become Worthy Advisor.
The sisters of Natick Assembly.
Grace and her pledge mom, Steph.

It was definitely one of our busier weeks but it was so good to have these long wished for things come true! xo

In Which Froggy And Boppy Get Initiated Into Rainbow

The Rainbow Girls invited the pledge girls to bring their favorite stuffed animal to the meeting yesterday for the "stuff animal initiation".

The animals gathered on the magic carpet and were escorted to the Worthy Advisor.

The girls absolutely loved this (and so did the adults in attendance)!
What a fun way to spend a rainy Friday night!
A post initiation picture!
You'll see a similar picture this September when Grace gets initiated into Rainbow! xo

A Rainbow Snack For The Rainbow Girls!

The girls volunteered to bring snack to the Rainbow Girls Pledge meeting this past Friday, so of course we just had to make a rainbow shaped fruit pizza! We used our favorite sugar cookie recipe, paired with our favorite cream cheese frosting recipe and bought fruit in (almost) every color of the rainbow (indigo colored fruit is really hard to come by)! It was super delicious and a total hit! I have no doubt that this treat will be one that we make (and bring to events) for many years to come! xo

A Special Night

Last night we had the honor of being invited to witness Sarah become the Worthy Advisor of the Newton Assembly of the Rainbow Girls. We have known Sarah and her family (shown in the first picture with her parents) for almost fifteen years. From the moment that we met Michael and Dianne all those years ago at the church we were attending (where Michael was the minister) we had an instant friendship. We'd get together for meals or we'd meet up at the summer concerts on the green (or at some other fun location) or I'd watch Sarah so they could go out on a date. We spent a lot of time together so it was only natural when Dave and I got engaged that we asked Michael to be one of the ministers to officiate at our wedding. It was an honor to have him up there with us all those years ago, and it was an honor to be included in such a special night for their family last night too.

Last night was also the first time that we had been to a Rainbow Girls ceremony, or anything Rainbow Girls for that matter, and what a wonderful first experience it was! All those involved in the ceremony did an absolutely stellar job. Even more impressive than the gorgeous gowns and tiaras was that each participant with a speaking part memorized her part of the ritual. It was a lot to remember and they all did such a fantastic job! The poise with which these young women walked, conducted the ceremony and spoke was unparalleled. We have no doubt that they will all do very well wherever life takes them!

Thank you, dear friends, for including us in such a special night last night. Sarah, we wish you all the best during your term as Worthy Advisor. We know that you will do a wonderful job in this new role! xo
