First Day Of Swimming Lessons
For the past several summers the girls have taken swimming lessons at the lake in our town. And each summer we have watched them gain confidence and skills thanks to the talented teens who are their swim instructors. They did one session of swimming lessons at the Y (before last summer's session at the lake) and did not do nearly as well in the pool. With that in mind we signed the girls up for two weeks of lake lessons this summer. Today was their first day and they were both so excited that they couldn't wait to get to the lake today. As soon as it was time for their lesson they went running over saying quick good-byes to me. They spent the next hour in their lesson. When it was over they came running out of the lesson part of the lake and then headed right back in to the lake where Sarah and I were sitting. They then spent the next three hours swimming and playing and practicing all they had learned today. It's safe to say that we have some water babies on our hands!

A Good Start To The Week
A trip to the lake was the perfect way to kick off this week!
Though really any day spent at the lake is good with us!

{This Moment} And So It Begins
{This Moment} - A Soule Mama Friday ritual. A single photo- no words- capturing a moment from the week. A simple, special, extraordinary moment. A moment I want to pause, savor and remember. If you are inspired to do the same, leave a link to your 'moment' in the comments section for all to find and see. We wish you a lovely weekend and a wonderful 4th of July celebration next week!

First Lake Trip Of The Season
Last week with the summer heat having arrived with the Summer Solstice we decided it was a fine time to seek some relief at the lake in town. We packed the car up with all the key things required for a beach trip and headed out in search of the relief that can only come from being near water. As soon as we pulled into our parking spot the girls began to squeal. Clearly, all the memories from last year and the fun they had at the lake came rushing back to them! We hiked up the hill, pulling our trusty wagon behind us until we finally reached the sand. Once the perfect spot was located the girls wasted no time getting into the water. It was a gorgeous day at the lake and while there were a fair amount of people there it was by no means too crowded. The water was warm, the skies were blue and the smiles on our faces were huge. Life is good!

Fun In The Sun
The boys took in the scenery,
while the girls' had their morning swim lesson.
Once swimming lessons were done it was time for more swimming,
followed by some lunch.
Then it was back into the lake.
Snack is very serious business!
It was the perfect way to spend this absolutely stellar day! Any day spent at the lake is always wonderful, but it becomes fabulous when spent with dear friends!

The Lake
This afternoon was our first lake adventure of the season! After quiet time we got changed, packed up and headed over to the beach here in town. It was the most perfect day for a trip to the lake. The sky was a beautiful shade of blue, the clouds were perfectly puffy and it was just the right temperature. We could not have asked for a better day! As soon as we arrived, the girls got reacquainted with the lake and its inhabitants, clearly happy to be back at one of their favorite places. They wasted no time getting right in the water, and then getting to work on a good few sandcastles. Then, just when they think the day cannot get any better, some of our friends arrive and make the afternoon even more exciting! We came home tired, full of sand and super hungry. And so another wonderful season of lake trips begins!
