Pumpkin Picking

Now just to figure out what types of jack-o-lanterns to make from these lovely pumpkins.  Thank goodness we have a couple of weeks left to figure it out!

Apple Picking

It's so good to be back after a week of not being able to blog!  We had some technical difficulties over here, but thanks to one of our "computer gurus" and his incredible super powers we are finally back up and running.  My mom spent this beautiful weekend with us, and seeing how it was truly the most perfect (almost) fall weather, we decided to do a little apple picking!  Our apple picking adventures actually started on Friday at a different orchard, but due to the sheer amount of people that were there(at 4:00pm on a Friday no less!) we decided to wait to do our picking 'till early the next day.  On Saturday, we got up, got dressed and headed over to Westward Orchards for some cider, donuts and apple picking!  Truly, it was perfect.  It was totally our speed (read: not crowded at all) and an all around glorious day.  This orchard has become our orchard of choice ever since we went there for the first time last year to pick apples.  Such a simple operation, not commercial at all.  It's always peaceful there too, which makes it even more appealing.  We are now the proud owners of a bushel of apples which we will spend this week turning into apple sauce (to can), apple crisp and apple cake!  Needless, to say, the house will smell divine!

Pumpkin Picking

It was rather surprising that Grace chose the "popcorn" pumpkin.

The price is determined by which of the pumpkins in the line your pumpkin matches.

A new family tradition was begun yesterday; pumpkin picking and scarecrow making at Westward Orchard!  For as long as we have lived up here I have been on the hunt for a pick your own pumpkin patch, and I am thrilled that we finally found one!  Here's to the beginning of what I am sure will be many, many years of pumpkin picking there.  Many wonderful memories were made yesterday.  We are looking forward to next year already!

Scarecrow Making

This is only part one of our wonderful fall adventure today!  Tune in tomorrow when my 20GB of storage space has kicked in (I had no idea that there was a limit to how much space you had on a blog until today) to see our adventures in the pumpkin patch!  It was a truly incredible day, full of wonderfully fabulous memories!

Apple Picking

Yesterday morning was beautiful.  A perfect autumn day in New England.  The kind of day that requires time be spent outside, and since we had not been apple picking yet yesterday seemed to like the perfect time to do just that.

The joy of a fabulously beautiful New England day.  Life is so good!
