The Fourth Light Of Advent::Love

The fourth light of Advent is the light of man.
The light of love, the light of thought, to give and understand.
Love is patient,; love is kind; love is not envious or boastful or arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way;it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice in wrongdoing, but rejoices in the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends.  -1 Corinthians 13:4-8a

Sunday

Today began with an absolutely gorgeous performance of Appalachian Winter, A Cantata for Christmas (click here to hear a bit of what we were treated to today). The performance served as our church service this morning and was the perfect way to mark the fourth Sunday of Advent.
And what a performance it was! Thank you to everyone who worked so hard to make this special day possible! It is a day that we shall carry with us always (and one that we hope to experience again sometime in the future). Bravo! Bravo! Bravo!
Today also brought with it some treats for the girls from our wonderful friend Jane. We are so honored to know Jane and count her and her family as one of the many, many blessings that has come with being a part of the amazing faith community that is Plymouth Church. For those that may not know, Grace has been longing to learn to play the harp. This lovely lap harp (given to both girls by Jane) is the perfect first step in regard to making that dream a reality for our sweet first born girl!
Emma took quite a liking to the string game and little book that came with it. She spent a good chunk of time working out how to make her hands do what the pictures in the book were showing.
The girls spent hours playing with these wonderful gifts. Our background music all afternoon was beautiful sounds of the lap harp. It was just lovely!
Finally, it was time to light the fourth Advent candle.
The girls decided to share the responsibility and light it together.
Our gorgeous girls. Sisters and best friends!
The fourth light of Advent is the light of man.
The light of love,
the light of thought,
to give and understand.

The Fourth Light of Advent

The fourth light of Advent is the light of humankind.
The light of love, the light of thought, to give and to understand.

As we are just days away from Solstice and Christmas we hope that you can find peace, love, hope and joy in these final busy days before the holidays arrive.  Take time to enjoy the joy, dear ones.  And know that being present is truly the best present you could ever give.
