An Evening With Friends

Last year, Ben and Sarah started their annual Beer and Bacon Fest.  Today was the much anticipated second annual Beer and Bacon Fest, and everyone spent the day coming up with what yummy treats they would create to bring with them.  We all gathered this afternoon to partake in what was sure to be a fun filled evening!
We made BLT salad.
What a fabulous way to spend such a gorgeous summer evening!  Everyone clearly had a great time.  Beer, bacon, face painting and dear friends.  Could it be any better?!  Honestly, I don't think so!  We are looking forward to next year's Beer and Bacon Fest already, though I think it's safe to say that none of us will be eating bacon any time soon!

Painted Ladies

It's a week of birthday partying for us!  Another one of the girls friends turned five today and invited us to join in the birthday fun at a local playground.  We are loving these outdoor birthday parties, and even better, the birthday families seem to be scoring incredible days for such special events!  Once Emily was done setting up, and the facepainter was ready as well, Emily came to see if Grace would be willing to get her face painted first.  Clearly she knew who her go to girl was!   She barely finished the words "face painted like a fairy" before Grace hightailed it over there.  You don't have to ask her twice!
Happy fifth birthday, sweet girl!
It was a glorious day!  The perfect way to celebrate turning five! May the next five years be as blessed and full of magic and wonder as the past five have been!  Enjoy your special day, friends!

Pumpkins and Flowers and Catapults! Oh My!

Dave had to work today, so it meant the girls and I were left to find adventure on our own.  With it being a most perfect fall day, finding adventure was super easy!

First up, Drumlin Farm.  The girls were so into the painting of these pumpkins I was not sure we'd make it to the other places on our list of fun fall events!

Painting pumpkins is very exhausting!
Next up:  Land's Sake.  They were having a fall festival, and since it was on our way home from Drumlin, we stopped by.

The cider press was a big hit, with young and old alike.
And then we discovered the catapult.

Flinging fruit and veggies is super fun!

We decided we wanted one in our own yard!
No good fall festival is complete without face painting.  A kitty for Em,
And a bunny for Miss Grace!

We had a truly lovely day and were so sad that David was not with us to enjoy all the fun.  I have a feeling though, if he had been, he'd be outside right now figuring out how to put a catapult in our yard!  Composting has never been so fun!

Happy October, friends!
