January Wrap Up

 And just like that January is over. This month went incredibly fast and unfortunately I did not post on here nearly as much I had hoped. Alas, I suppose that is to be expected with our very full days and two older girls!  

One never knows where Gretchen will pop up next! 

Watching Kamala break tat glass ceiling was truly incredible!  We are so grateful that intelligence, kindness an compassion are back in the White House.  

Grace's art skills never cease to impress. So truly grateful that the girls grew up as Waldorf kids and that they get to be part of Seasons of Seven and continue their Waldorf education. Seasons of Seven is the perfect fit for them and such a lovely community. So grateful that arts are such an important part of the Waldorf world and that our girls get to incorporate them into all aspects of their life and learning. 

Sundays at the mountain are  a wee bit different this year but at least they get to ski. Since ski team isn't 9:00am-3:00pm due to Covid this year, they do not head up with Dave first thing in the morning. Instead, I drop them off so that they have time to get a few runs in before grabbing lunch and then heading to ski team. Today, we had Dave meet up with us during drop off! It's always a treat when he meets them and even more of a treat when he comes to say hello to me! Wishing you all a lovely last night of January and a sweet and love-filled February! xo 

Wordless Wednesday

No Jacket Required

Today it reached just about 60 degrees!  The sky was a gorgeous shade of blue, the clouds were perfectly puffy, and the sun was happily shining down.  It was simply amazing!  A glorious day such as this surely calls for an adventure to be had.  And, as luck would have it, plans had already been made to meet up with my friend Julie at the Natick Community Organic Farm.  Our timing couldn't have been any better!

Someone get these girls a farm, please!

What started out as a simple errand of dropping off some yarn to my friend Julie turned into a completely lovely adventure.  Our time spent at the farm today was just what we all needed. Soaking in loads of Vitamin D and connecting with nature truly feeds our souls.  Watching the girls run with wild abandon and connect with their friends and the animals made me feel (once again) that they really should be farm kids.  They would do well with lots of land to explore, animals to take care of and gardens to tend.  Thankfully we have the last two covered!  Thank you Mother Nature for this gift of this day!  We girls truly appreciated it!

Friday Fun

Most Fridays we have a lazy, pajama day at home.  It is the perfect way to end a busy week.  Today, was no exception.  With Em feeling crummy and it being rather cold out, it seemed like the perfect thing to do.  We started our day off with a delicious breakfast of baked apples, recipe courtesy of Stephanie from Ordinary Life Magic, and after that we got down to the business of playing!

Naptime Fun

I should have known that by the girls and I sleeping until 7:00am today that it would mean that neither of them would nap this afternoon. Given how fussy Em was when we were out running errands, and how crabby both girls were throughout lunch, I thought for sure I would get a lovely few hours to myself as I usually do.  Sadly, it was not to be.  I headed upstairs more times than I could count to settle both girls down and put them back in their respective sleeping areas.  Finally, at 2:30pm I could take it no more.  I deemed them done, brought them downstairs, gave them a snack and set about figuring out what we would spend the afternoon doing.

Finally, we decided to put on a movie.  The girls chose Charlotte's Web. 

The one with Dakota Fanning.  If you have not seen it, we highly recommend it! 

I love that it's set in New England.  I love that they stayed true to the book. 

I love that it teaches you to look for the ordinary miracles in your daily life.

All in all, not a bad way to pass the time!

Princess Grace and The Divine Miss Em's Tea Party

The girls had their first real tea party today!  For sometime they have been having pretend tea parties, ones where no food or drink was present.  Now that Em is older it seemed like it was time to introduce them to the joys of holding a tea party complete with "tea".  Santa, in all his wisdom, brought them a tea set for Christmas.  One that is safe for food and liquids to be used in, and even better, it's BPA free!  What a cool guy to bring a "green" gift for the girls!  They donned their favorite outfits, and with a little explanation ("yes, there really is liquid in the tea pot and yes, you really can take turns pouring it") the tea party got underway.  The teapot was filled with water several times, animal crackers, Cinnamon Life and craisins were in bowls, although not much of the food was consumed, and lots of water ended up on the table!  The pictures below tell the wondrous whole story.
