January Wrap Up

 And just like that January is over. This month went incredibly fast and unfortunately I did not post on here nearly as much I had hoped. Alas, I suppose that is to be expected with our very full days and two older girls!
One never knows where Gretchen will pop up next!
Watching Kamala break tat glass ceiling was truly incredible!  We are so grateful that intelligence, kindness an compassion are back in the White House.

Grace's art skills never cease to impress. So truly grateful that the girls grew up as Waldorf kids and that they get to be part of Seasons of Seven and continue their Waldorf education. Seasons of Seven is the perfect fit for them and such a lovely community. So grateful that arts are such an important part of the Waldorf world and that our girls get to incorporate them into all aspects of their life and learning.
Sundays at the mountain are  a wee bit different this year but at least they get to ski. Since ski team isn't 9:00am-3:00pm due to Covid this year, they do not head up with Dave first thing in the morning. Instead, I drop them off so that they have time to get a few runs in before grabbing lunch and then heading to ski team. Today, we had Dave meet up with us during drop off! It's always a treat when he meets them and even more of a treat when he comes to say hello to me! Wishing you all a lovely last night of January and a sweet and love-filled February! xo

During Quiet Time

Nothing like a snuggily kitty in your lap to make quiet time extra cozy! Grace said that as soon as she sat down Gretchen came over and made herself right at home in her lap. She was so deeply asleep that she didn't even know I had taken a few pictures! I am so glad that I was able to capture this sweet moment. xo

{This Moment}

{This Moment} A Friday ritual. A single photo -no words- capturing a moment from the week. A simple, special, extraordinary moment. A moment I want to pause, savor and remember. If you are inspired to do the same leave a link to your moment in the comments section below for all to find and see. We wish our Canadian friends a very happy Canada Day today and a wonderful Independence Day weekend to our American friends! May your celebrations be lovely! xo

Gretchen And Her Girls

As I was deleting pictures from my phone this past weekend I came across a whole bunch that I had taken but never shared. Regardless of whether they were taken last week or many months ago I am going to use this week to share them before any more time passes. The first two pictures were taken back in early December when both girls had short hair and Emma still had bangs. The third picture was taken in early May, when it was still cool enough out to warrant leggings and a long sleeve t-shirt, but warm enough out to have the window open. Regardless, we can always count on Gretchen to find all the best sunny spots in the house! xo

At The End Of The Day

Each and every night as the girls are getting ready for bed Gretchen wanders into their room. She has always loved this time of day and she has always joined us for stories and snuggles. Ever since we returned from our Florida trip this summer she has spent each and every night sleeping on Grace's bed. She has a favorite spot, generally the left corner, but recently has started snuggling right up against Grace. Each night as I kiss the girls good-night, I can hear Miss Gretchen purring contentedly while that night's Sparkle Story begins and the stars from the girls Twilight Turtle cast their soft glow around the room. It's the perfect ending to our days and I am so very glad that this sweet kitty is a part of our world. xo

Our Sweet Kitty

Last night, as the girls were getting ready for bed, Gretchen appeared in their room. She looked around for a cozy spot and ended up choosing this pillow on Grace's bed. Grace then quietly walked over to sit with our sweet kitty. Seeing these two sweet friends sitting together I quietly went downstairs to grab my phone in hopes that they'd still be there when I returned. Thankfully, they were just as I'd left them. I love how much our sweet kitty loves the girls. Truly they are "her" girls, and she appears throughout each day to check in on them. She is always there at night when we are snuggled in my bed reading bedtime stories, and she shows up without fail on the rare occasion that one is crying. She is such a sweet soul this kitty of ours and I am so glad that we get to share our home with her!
