Snow Day!

We were so thrilled to wake up and see the world all covered in gorgeous snow! Not only was it beautiful but it was perfect packing snow! Emma's snowman was such a welcome addition to the yard, and seeing the girls outside on one of the tabbogans totally flashed me back to years passed. So grateful for this incredible life we get to live!  xo

With A Little Help From Papa

Sunday morning we all noticed that the gorgeous (and huge!) snowman that the girls had built the day before had fallen. Immediately they asked if they could head outside to rebuild it, and right after they asked that question they asked if David would go with them to help.
The snowman building team decided that once we got home from church a new snowman would be built. And, as you can see it surely was!
Great job, team!
The toppling of the big snowman meant that Grace needed to rebuild Olaf too.
She's got a talent for sculpting Olaf, this girl of ours!

Do You Want To Build A Snowman?

Kathleen and her sweet littles came over to join us for a lazy day and some snow play. While she and I were in the kitchen chatting we noticed that the girls were hard at work making two very large snowballs. We headed out figuring that they would need a little help to stack the two section they had made.
Kathleen helps the girls place the head on.
Olaf!
The girls worked so hard and made such a beautiful snowman!
He's easily the biggest one that we've ever had in our yard! What a great team these three make!
Our sweet, old farmhouse is beautiful in all seasons, but there is something especially magical about it in the winter.
After the three girls were done making big Olaf, Grace got to work sculpting a little Olaf. It took her about two hours to complete him.
"He took a long time to sculpt, Mama!"
Thanks friends for spending the day with us and for building a snowman! It was a perfect way to spend this gorgeously snowy day!

On The Eve Of The Next Storm

So, unlike last winter (or "the winter that wouldn't") this is clearly "the winter that could". We are currently awaiting the arrival of our fifth good-size snowstorm as I type this. And it occurred to me, that I never had a chance to post pictures of Dave and the girls and the fabulous snowman they made after the last snowstorm. So, before I miss the chance I figured that now was a good a time to share these sweet pictures with all of you!
