One of my most favorite pictures of Emma is this one of her at her first birthday gathering. Seems like just yesterday she was this little, and I'm finding very hard to believe that our baby girl is eleven today! xo

Time Flies
I came across this picture of the four of us taken in August 2009 the other day. Grace was three, Emma was eighteen months. Crazy to think that on Saturday Miss Grace turns ten! One one hand it feels like just yesterday that this picture was taken, but on the other it feels like a lifetime ago. xo

Seven Years Ago...
On this day, seven years ago, our sweet girls were two-and-a-half and a few days shy of turning one. It's crazy how fast time has passed by! xo

Throwback Thursday::Valentine's Day
We begin by throwing back to February 2007. Grace's first Valentine's Day (and her first tutu)!
February 2009. Emma's first Valentine's Day (and one week shy of turning one year old)!
Valentine's Day 2010.
First Valentine's Day on the blog and one week shy of Emma turning two years old.
A little baking on Valentine's Day 2011.
Fairy wings were a must then (and now)!
Valentine's Day 2012. Emma's one week shy of turning four (which she really wasn't keen on at all),
and we attended a very special tea.
Tea is serious business you know!
Valentine's Day 2013. Homemade valentines (of course!) and Emma's one week shy of turning five.
And finally, Valentine's Day 2014.
Sweet gnomes made by our dear friend Kim, and one week to go until Emma turns six!
I hadn't planned to include pictures from each year of their lives (minus 2008 that is. I'm sure I have one from that year around here somewhere, now if I could just remember where it would be) but once I started looking back I just couldn't stop! It's hard to believe that another Valentine's Day is upon us this weekend, and that one week after that our sweet Emma will be seven! And unlike when she refused to turn four ("I not four, I only Emma!") she is super excited to celebrate turning seven! Happy Valentine's Day, friends! xo

Throwback Thursday::August 17, 2002
(Almost) Twelve years ago, on an incredibly hot Saturday, David and I said our "I dos" before our family and dearest friends. We had no way of knowing what the future would hold, but twelve years in I can say that every moment was completely worth it (yes, even the rough ones)! Thank you, David, for being the love of my life, my soul mate and my best friend. In the words of the Indigo Girls-"And if we ever leave a legacy it's that we loved each other well." My thoughts exactly, my love. xoxo

Throwback Thursday::Fourteen Years Ago
This week our friends Heather and Al celebrated their fourteenth wedding anniversary. Funny enough I just happened to stumble upon a picture of Dave and I from their wedding reception this week, too! It made for the perfect Throwback Thursday moment (and goodness, I cannot believe how young we look here)! xo

Throwback Thursday::First Easter
April 2007.
March 2008.
Another Easter is upon us, and it seems like just yesterday we were celebrating each of their first ones. Time has gone by way too quickly though each and every celebration, holiday and festival is just as magical as those first ones!

In Memoriam
Dave's Grandmother passed away this week. We are sad that her life here on Earth has come to an end but are happy for a life well lived (and in her 96 years she lived fully and loved deeply)! She leaves behind two children, two step-children, seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and two nieces. David and I are eternally grateful that she was able to dance at our wedding (almost twelve years ago) and that she had the chance to meet both of our girls. She will surely be missed by all! We'll see you on the flip side, Grandma! xo

Throwback Thursday::Christmas Past
Christmas 2006: Grace's second Christmas. I was pregnant with Emma.
Christmas 2008: Emma's first Christmas.
Christmas 2009.
Christmas 2010. I don't think we'll ever top the awesomeness of this picture.
Christmas 2011.
I love that the sparkly background matches Grace's headband!
My goal for 2014 is to have us professionally photographed (preferably outside). It has been a couple of years since we last had formal pictures done and I think it's about time we begin that tradition again!

Throwback Thursday::College Sweethearts
August's arrival means that our anniversary is right around the corner (August 17th to be exact), and with that in mind I thought it would be fun to have a little look back at our love story over the years. It all began at the University of Hartford. What started out as something that I thought would simply last for our senior year has turned into something truly amazing.
Our story is pretty simple. It's not one that they will make movies about (although if they did I would like to think that Reese Whitherspoon would play me) but it is one that I hope our girls look to for inspiration when they are old enough to be contemplating marriage and all that goes along with it. Our story is simply the story of two best friends that fell in love. Our story is simply the story of a boy who sees a girl and knows from that very first moment that he will marry her (the girl on the other hand took a little bit longer to come to this realization). Our story is simply a story of love, laughter, friendship and everyday life with a good dose of romance thrown in every now and again too. Our story has- of course- had some bumps along the way, but those bumps have only strengthened what was already a very strong bond.
It's amazing how looking at this photo of the two of us from all those years ago can instantly transport me right back to our senior year. And yet, it also seems like a lifetime ago. Life was simpler then. There were no bills to pay. No worries beyond should we eat on campus or off. We could stay up late, and then sleep late and then roll out of bed just in time to head to class. At the time we thought life couldn't get any better. Little did we know that the best was yet to come!
Thanks for chasing me all those years ago, my love. I'm glad you finally caught me. xoxox
