In the final few weeks of the lesson year and the girls are still super focused and going strong! So proud of how hard they have worked this year and the amazing connections they have made!  xo

Monday Evening

What's that old quarantine saying? The family that washes dishes together stays together? Rest in peace, dishwasher. xo

Mail

Scrolling through my phone today I came upon this picture of the letter my grandfather sent to Grace. I had intended to share it last month, after it arrived, but somehow that did not happen.  I am so grateful that the girls have a prolific pen pal in their (now) 100 year old great-grandfather. xo

This Morning

In which we wake up to a snowy wonderland and the girls waste no time heading out to play in it! Welcome to April in New England! xo

Viking Ship Project

I realized today that I never shared this sweet project that Emma did last week as part of her study of the Vikings (which is part of her middle ages block). I purchased this project from Teachers Pay Teachers and am so glad that I did. My only regret is that I didn't happen upon this project last year when Grace was  working on  this same block. It was really fun to see this entire project come together! xo

A New Easter Tradition

In which we wear festive aprons and Dave teaches the girls how to make carousela (an Easter tradition from his mom's side of the family). xo

Easter Sunday

Our Easter centerpiece. Usually this is the part that gets enjoyed before Church,
But since we didn't have far to go for church today the girls got to enjoy the centerpiece....
PLUS their baskets this morning (rather than waiting until after we got home from church)!
Putting their Easter baskets together each year is one of my most favorite traditions.
Grace said to me: "I bet I'll love doing this for my children too, mama!"
I  have a feeling she will love it just as much as I do!
All dressed up for Easter worship! We figured we might as well since we had bought dresses before social distancing was part of our vocabulary.
Dave decided that he'd wear his comfy pants as part of his Easter outfit this year! Very fitting given the pandemic going on!
Even Gretchen joined us for worship!
Facebook Live Church.
Sporting our Easter finest (thanks to Aunt Gail!) for some carousela making (more on this tomorrow).
They came out so good!

After we baked there was Jesus Christ Superstar watching and quiet time and a family walk down the Rail Trail. When we got home, the girls played outside, I got a workout in and then we had Easter dinner.
It was a truly lovely Easter Sunday. xo
