The Graduate

On Saturday my amazing sister graduated from the Boston Architectural College with a degree in Interior Design.  The ceremony was held at the gorgeous Old South Church in Boston, which clearly chosen for it's architecture!
After the ceremony and requisite pictures, we piled into the limo and headed to Providence to meet up with Dave and the girls.  We decided not to subject them to their first graduation ceremony yet since graduations are, single handedly, one of the most boring things ever created.  It was in Providence that we would celebrate with delicious food and a night of fun!
The girls had their first limo ride on Saturday. Nothing like some fabulous pink carseats a limo!  I don't think they were sure what to make of it at first.  Em kept saying: "Wow!  That's a long car!"
Graduation dinner was, of course, held at The Dorrance.  Not only is it Kait's favorite place but it's Grace's too ("Mama, this place looks like a palace!")
And after dinner, it was off to waterfire (our first time seeing this magnificent sight) before we called it a night and headed home.
It was a spectacular end to a truly glorious day!

S'mores

For my birthday Dave and the girls and my parents and his parents all chipped in and gave me a lovely fire pit.  We had been batting the idea of one around since Kaitlyn and Eric first mentioned it and then after I fell in love with this one it seemed like it was going to be a reality sooner than later.  I never would have guessed it would have been my birthday gift!  So, after a lovely dinner of grilled chicken and salad last night we got a fire going in the cauldron and roasted marshmallows for s'mores!

Memorial Day

Today, my family is remembering the loss of my father's brother Leslie in the Vietnam War.
To those who have served and made the greatest sacrifice, we thank you.
