{This Moment} So Grown Up

{This Moment} - A Soule Mama Friday ritual. A single photo - no words - capturing a moment from the week. A simple, special, extraordinary moment. A moment I want to pause, savor and remember. If you're inspired to do the same, leave a link to your 'moment' in the comments section for all to find and see. We wish you a weekend full of lovely moments!

Strike A Pose!

My friend Martha posted on Facebook the other day that she had some dance recital costumes from past recitals her daughter had been in and she was looking to find a new home for them.  Knowing that the girls were in need of some new things for their dress up bin I commented and said we'd be happy to adopt some.  We headed over to Martha's first thing this morning and made our selections.  We thanked her for her generosity (she also gifted us with two games, some cookie cutters and candy molds and an Etch-A-Sketch, which Em has barely put down since) and promised we'd take some pictures when we got home. Without further adieu I present the 2012 Two Chicks Fashion Line!
There was, of course, a little yoga during their fashion show!
Thanks Martha for all the wonderful treasures!  The girls have had such fun with all of them today and I know that they will be loved and enjoyed for many moons to come!

A New Tradition

Sunday night, after the girls were in bed, a magical thing happened.
A Christmas tree appeared in their room!  To say they were surprised the next day would be an understatement.  It was quickly determined that a Christmas Fairy must have left it for them. They waited all day for David to get home so that they could decorate it and he wouldn't miss out.
In the past we've had two trees. One in the living room and one in the kitchen.  This will now bring the count up to three and the girls are already saying that Dave and I should have one in our room too! At this rate, they are going to want one in every room of the house!

We're Not Lyin' We're Fryin' (Again)!

Vintage Legos (from Dave's childhood)!
Turkey #1.
Turkey #2!
And one with me!
This year we gathered on Friday for our Family Thanksgiving Celebration. It was a most glorious Autumn day, and what had started out as a smallish gathering of eight turned into a larger gathering of thirteen!  It was fabulous!  We fried not one but two turkeys (that's how good fried turkey is, friends!) and had an abundance of amazing food.  The laughs shared and memories made are some that we will carry with us forever.  As we all revel in the awesomness that was experienced yesterday it is safe to say that this Thanksgiving may very well take the prize for "Best Thanksgiving Ever"! And there's currently lots of chatter about making the day after Thanksgiving the day that we hold our Family Thanksgiving Celebration on from now on (tune in next year to see what the verdict was).  From our family to yours we hope you all had a magnificent Thanksgiving with your family (whenever you celebrate it)!
