The End Of Last Week

Though I had all intentions of putting many of these pictures up sooner (and in separate blogposts) the days have been flying by at warp speed that they seem to end before I get a chance to do so. Instead of trying to play "catch up" and getting further behind I thought I'd share our last several days in one blogpost instead!

Backing up to Thursday and the arrival of our wonderful new stove! After almost eight weeks of cooking outside we finally have the ability to cook in the kitchen again! It is truly fabulous and such a treat!
With the stove being installed in the kitchen, and the kitchen table and dinning room table covered in all sorts of things, Emma found a pretty good spot to do her lessons!
The stickers from the front of the stove found a new home on Miss Emma!
Our gorgeous new stove! I have wanted a gas stove since we bought the house (almost fourteen years ago!) and am so thrilled that this dream is finally a reality! In the words of both of the girls:
"This is the stove we will learn to cook on!"
Saturday was Grace's initiation into Rainbow Girls!
She had been looking forward to this day since the day we saw Sarah become Worthy Advisor.
The sisters of Natick Assembly.
Grace and her pledge mom, Steph.

It was definitely one of our busier weeks but it was so good to have these long wished for things come true! xo

{This Moment} Last Sunday After Church

{This Moment} A weekend ritual. A single photo -no words- capturing a moment from the week. A simple, special, extraordinary moment. A moment I want to pause, savor and remember. If you are inspired to do the same leave a link to you moment in the comments section for all to find and see. Wishing you a lovely first weekend of Autumn! xo

{This Moment} On September 11th

{This Moment} A weekend ritual. A single photo -no words- capturing a moment from the week. A simple, special, extraordinary moment. A moment I want to pause, savor and remember. If you are inspired to do the same leave a link to your moment in the comments section for all to find and see. My apologies for being rather late with this weeks moment. Somehow Friday and Saturday slipped by before I realized I hadn't shared our moment! We wish you all a lovely Sunday! xo

Save The Bees!

Yesterday, the girls went outside in search of minibeasts as part of their nature study. While they were out there Grace noticed a bee (a minibeast!) walking down the back deck stairs. She them came in to tell me that there was something super important that I had to come see. I immediately went outside and the girls showed me a honeybee that was waking in the garden across from the stairs. A quick Google search told us that a walking bee is a starving bee and we followed the recommendation of mixing water with a bit of honey to feed to it. We placed the mixture in a teaspoon and put it near the bee. It quickly found it and immediately began to drink! We watched as she regained her strength and stayed until she flew away. It was truly one of the most incredible experiences of our lives! xo

The photos below were taken by Emma. She also recorded a video too that we shared on Facebook yesterday.

Sunday Smiles

Gelato at Eataly (even though they'd already had ice cream at church)! Some days just call for ice cream twice in one day! xo

Fields Of Gold

Yesterday's adventure was easily one of the most beautiful that we have been on. We journeyed north to Colby Farm where we were greeted by a sea of sunflowers (150,000 seeds had been planted), gorgeous blue skies and, because it was a weekday afternoon, had the place pretty much to ourselves. There were little spots in the field where you could stand and feel like you were one of the thousands upon thousands of sunflowers out there. It was truly magical and a lovely way to spend a September afternoon! xo

Emma's Compass Rose

Today she began a maps/mapping block for main lesson. First up: the compass rose!
Em asked me to take this picture of her. Originally I wasn't planning to share it, but once I noticed Gretchen in the background I couldn't resist! xo

Scenes From The Greek Festival

Last night at the Greek festival. Music, dancing and the best Greek food around! Labor Day weekend wouldn't be the same without it! xo
