A New Easter Tradition

In which we wear festive aprons and Dave teaches the girls how to make carousela (an Easter tradition from his mom's side of the family). xo

Easter Sunday

Our Easter centerpiece. Usually this is the part that gets enjoyed before Church,
But since we didn't have far to go for church today the girls got to enjoy the centerpiece....
PLUS their baskets this morning (rather than waiting until after we got home from church)!
Putting their Easter baskets together each year is one of my most favorite traditions.
Grace said to me: "I bet I'll love doing this for my children too, mama!"
I  have a feeling she will love it just as much as I do!
All dressed up for Easter worship! We figured we might as well since we had bought dresses before social distancing was part of our vocabulary.
Dave decided that he'd wear his comfy pants as part of his Easter outfit this year! Very fitting given the pandemic going on!
Even Gretchen joined us for worship!
Facebook Live Church.
Sporting our Easter finest (thanks to Aunt Gail!) for some carousela making (more on this tomorrow).
They came out so good!

After we baked there was Jesus Christ Superstar watching and quiet time and a family walk down the Rail Trail. When we got home, the girls played outside, I got a workout in and then we had Easter dinner.
It was a truly lovely Easter Sunday. xo

On Easter Box Saturday

We began our day by opening the Easter Box (as is our tradition the day before Easter).
Thank you Grandma Joan and Grandpa Ron for the Easter treats!
After we did our usual Saturday chores/cleaning the girls turned out Lilac bush into our osterbaum (German Easter tree).

We came to this idea a bit on the late side so used plastic eggs rather than eggs we had blown out and decorated. We aren't keen on adding more plastic into the world but it works for now. And we all agreed that we need like one hundred more.
One year we'd love for our osterbaum to look like this one!
The girls then spent some time decorating the driveway.
We ended our Easter Eve fun with egg dying.
We had planned to make Italian Easter bread today too but that will wait for tomorrow.
We hope that you had as lovely a Saturday as we did!
Wishing those who celebrate a blessed Passover and Easter! xo

Sign Of The Times

Even a mask can't stop them from smiling!
Who is that masked man?!

My dear friend Jennifer made these masks for us. If ever there was a symbol of this pandemic masks (and toilet paper) are definitely it. xo
