Today's adventure took us to Dam Day in Clinton. The Wachusett Reservoir Dam opens to the public only two days per year and today was one of them (the next one is in October). Many moons ago Dave and I had walked the stairs that lead to the fountain but we had never before been able to walk across the dam too. What an experience to be able to do so! Before we began our journey Dave snapped a couple of picture of the girls and I (a rare treat) though the sun made our little photo shoot a wee bit challenging! Oh, how I wish this picture wasn't so shady looking!
A brighter picture of the three of us.
View from the top of the dam looking down. The girls and Dave walked down all the stairs, past the fountain and up all the stairs on the other side. I started the journey with them but at one point the stairs were way too steep going down and I had to turn around. Heights are so not my thing.
Reunited!
The power of water is truly awesome.

Tonight, as we shared our roses and thorns of the day, we all had the same rose- going to Dam Day. Oh, how we wish we had been able to get there sooner as the time that we were there was simply not long enough! We'll surely be back in October for the final Dam Day of 2014. We can't wait, especially since next time the dam is open to the public the trees should be dressed in all their autumnal glory!
