The first picture of Easter morning. Taken before anyone woke up (so the baskets could go back into hiding until we returned home from church). It has always been our tradition to wait on the Easter baskets until after (since we usually need to be at church early that day for Cherub Choir rehearsal). This year, the addition of the centerpiece (inspired by The Little Travelers Germany episode) really helped make the morning feel like Easter Sunday. The girls were so surprised to find this on our table:"Mama, it's like when the Little Travelers were in Germany!" Dave was pretty impressed with it too, so I think it's safe to say that this will be something we do from here on out. I am hoping to find a vintage embroidered table cloth for next year as I think that would just make the whole thing even sweeter. And a few decorated Easter eggs scattered about would be lovely, too.
Ready for church!
The cross before. This is the third year our church has held a flowering of the cross. Such a beautiful tradition and one that we all hope continues for years to come.
The cross after. Simply stunning! It is so magical to watch it go from completely bare to just bursting with flowers.
Grace and Emma and Greg.
A family picture with our friend and senior minister, Greg.
Even though it was rather chilly and windy out yesterday the girls really wanted a picture with the cross outside. I'm so very glad that we did because this one may be our most fabulous yet!
Easter basket time!
Both girls were completely enchanted with everything in their baskets, but most especially these sweet felted eggs with spring critters in them!
From here it was a quiet rest of the day. Easter dinner at The Wayside Inn (due to being without use of the oven for the last five weeks) followed by finishing up our maple syrup (blogpost on that tomorrow). Such a lovely day all around! We hope that your Sunday (whether you celebrate Easter or not) was just as lovely, too! xo
Looks like a lovely day Shel. I love the cross, just stunning!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Kim! It really was! The flower cross really is a sight to behold (I had a feeling you'd love this)! xo

Thanks Wendy! The moment I saw them I knew that they just had to be the girls Easter dresses! They have gotten many compliments on them and were instant favorites by the girls! I know they'll be worn tons and cherished for many years to come. Emma's already said how she'll be saving hers for her daughters. So sweet!
