This picture was taken just a few days before Parsnip passed. For those who don't know, she is the one who is mostly white.
Last Saturday, in the midst of all the dance recital excitement, we discovered that we had a very sick piggie on our hands. A call was made to the vet and an appointment was scheduled for the next day. We snuggled Parsnip and headed off for the recital. Upon returning home were sad to make the discovery that she had passed, and we set about preparing for our first at home pet funeral. Tears were shed ("She was such a quiet piggie, Mana" said Emma as she sobbed) and a coffin was prepared. A hole was dug and we gathered around it to say good-bye to sweet Parsnip. We sang, we cried, we shared stories and the girls helped bury her. Ginger is doing well but seems very lost without her sister and we struggle about whether to add a new piggie into the mix or not (right now we are going with "no" as we worry that it may also cause her great stress). We are grateful to have had the time we had with sweet Parsnip and hope that she has told Albert all about how we have been doing since he crossed the rainbow bridge a couple of months ago. Her sweet spirit is surely missed. xo
