In Honor of Dolly

I have been trying to find the words to adequately express how truly devastated I am by the passing of our Queen, Dolly Parton, and nothing feels quite right. All I keep coming back to is that she leaves behind an incredible legacy and we are all the better for having existed in the same time line as her. So humble yet iconic, may we all strive to be more like Dolly. 🦋

One Last Time

Today was the last time I walked in the door as an employee at The New England Center for Children. When I was offered the job in West Boylston I was granted permission to move my final weeks of vacation to the last few weeks of the contract year. So, while I was done on August 7th I returned to share my wisdom with Nancy, who was taking my role,  for a few days after that. I kept my NECC issued computer with me until today in case any questions came up or Nancy needed my help with anything. Since I have new teacher orientation tomorrow, followed by CPI training on Wednesday I decided that I would turn in my computer and badge today. It was bittersweet walking into the building one final time. I am sad to close out this chapter and leave so many wonderful people behind, but I am excited to see what this next one has in store for me! xo

In Which Grace Graduates From Cosmetology School

In addition to yesterday being our 24th wedding anniversary, Grace also graduated from Collectiv! Students graduate the minute they hit their 1,000th hour, which for Grace happened on Monday August 17th at 1:30pm. Dana, the director of the school, shared with everyone in attendance all that Grace had accomplished, along with her GPA and amount of retail sales. Once Dana's speech was done, Grace's walk out song (Take on the World, from Girl Meets World) started and she was showered with lots of confetti and cheers! It was a wonderful conclusion to an incredible ten months!

Congrats, Grace! We know you are ready to take on the world! This industry is lucky to have you! We are so proud of all you have accomplished and know that you will continue to shine brightly and do amazing things! We love you! xo, Mama, Daddy and Emma
