On The Nature Table

Our early spring nature table. A robin's nest, a gorgeous rock (found at Nature School yesterday) and two plaster castings that the girls made. Simple, gorgeous, and the perfect representation of early spring.
Yesterday at Nature School Grace made this plaster casting of a deer toenail.
"They walk on their toenails, you know, mama!"
Actually, I had no idea! I always thought they walked on their entire hoof!
Emma's casting of a cottontail rabbit's hind leg. "You can tell it's the hind leg since it has an 'H" over here" she informed me at pick-up yesterday afternoon. What neat projects and the perfect addition to our table! xo

Spring Is Snow Much Fun!

Some snow, a shovel, a charcoal chimney and a paint brush. These two don't need much to have fun! xo

{These Moments} Spring Already?!

{This Moment} A Friday ritual. A single photo (or three) capturing a moment from the week. A simple, special, extraordinary moment. A moment I want to pause, savor and remember. If you are inspired to do the same leave a link to your moment in the comments section below. We wish you the loveliest of weekends. xo

This week has felt far more like mid-May than mid-March! xo

Welcome, Spring!

What the Robin Told

The wind told the grasses,
The grasses told the trees.
The trees told the bushes,
And the bushes told the bees.
The bees told the robin,
And the robin sang out clear;
Wake up! Wake up!
Spring is here!

A Splendid Saturday

After the bitter cold temperatures of this winter a 45 degree day today felt like a heatwave!  Dave dug the girls bikes out of their winter garage spots (and quickly adjusted Emma's since she's grown so much since this past autumn) and off they went! They must have ridden for close to two hours, soaking in all the wonderful sunshine and warmth we had been gifted by Mother Nature. What a glorious Saturday and a lovely taste of the Spring to come!
