Circus Smirkus!

Saturday brought with it gorgeous weather and what has now become our annual trip to Circus Smirkus! We went for the first time last year and had such a great time that we decided to make it a yearly thing. The girls have been looking forward to this day since the minute the show ended last year, and after much waiting the day had finally arrived!

The Troupers did a wonderful job and the show was fabulous! The girls are now back to asking when we can go back and have both started to talk about heading to Smirkus camp next summer too. Looks like there may be a trip to Vermont in our future for next summer! If you haven't been to Circus Smirkus yet we highly recommend it. Though I have to warn you, it will make you want to become a Smirko too!

Our Visit to Shelburne Farms (Finally!)

Here we are, a week after we visited Shelburne Farms, and I am finally getting around to posting about this fabulous visit!  We had heard for a good few years about how amazing this place was and now that we have been there we can see why! It was phenomenal, and yes, if we lived in Vermont we'd be there all the time!

With map in hand we embarked on our journey down the gravel path to the farm barn.

We helped this sweet chicken get back in the pen with the rest of her sisters.

A coop you can go in?!  Can this place be any more fabulous?!

Emma named this chicken Vanessa.

We got to experience what it's like to be in a pen.

And we learned about making cheese.  It's quite a process!

Had it not been like 40 degrees out we would have had lunch here.  We decided instead to grab a snack and stop by The Farmer's Diner on our way home. 

What a magical place! We just wish it had not been super cold and grey out.  But then again, maybe it was good that it was grey and cold. Had it been a perfect autumn day we never would have left (and as it was we were there for three hours)!  It was totally up our alley and is a place that we will surely return to again!

Somebody's Getting Married!

The next morning we arrived at the orchard where the wedding would be taking place. 

Since Emma had fallen asleep on the way over, Grace and I headed in to the bed and breakfast where Hannah and her bridesmaids were getting ready while Em finished her nap.  The adorable headband that Grace is wearing was given to the girls by Hannah at the rehersal dinner.  Isn't it darling?

Despite driving rain, raging winds and temps in the 40s it was a magnificent wedding!  The love this young couple has for each other is totally palpable and it helped to warm all of our cold, wet selves!  We had a truly magnificent time! It was an honor to get to fill such an important role for Hannah and Brad, and one that I will treasure forever!  Best wishes as you begin this next chapter in your lives, my friends!  We are with you every step of the way!
