February's One Small Change

Well, January has come and gone and sadly it took us forever to find white dinner napkins!  Can you believe it? We had decided that we wanted white napkins since that would allow us to bleach them when they were in need of a deep cleaning.  Apparently, everyone is on the same page since there were no white napkins to be found for quite sometime.

Finally some arrived at Williams-Sonoma (Dave has worked there part time for a little over ten years) and he was able to pick some up for us yesterday on his way home from his full time job.  We now have two sets of napkins.  One we will keep nice for company and one we will use for us. We are super excited!

This month we have decided to make our own cleaners.  We have been making out own toilet bowl cleaner (1 cup white vinegar and 1/4 cup baking soda. Mix over toilet, dump in, clean with brush and flush) for about a year now and it works great!  Ever since then I have been on the hunt for other cleaners that we can make.  Steph, over at Ordinary Life Magic, blogged last month about making cleaners and I was thrilled!  I had been looking for good recipes that people trust and have been super happy with and this seemed to be the answer I was looking for.  Now just to figure out where one gets castile soap.  I may hit Whole Foods later today and see if they have any. Sadly, our beloved Hannaford did not.

So, we'll pick up some borax, castile soap and bottles to store them in and be on our way!

If you have not already taken the One Small Change challenge I encourage you to do so.  If we all make just one small change each month, think of the impact we could make on our world!
