Not Back To School Day

Today we met up with a bunch of homeschool families at Walden Pond.  It was our first time visiting Walden Pond (and meeting these wonderful, like-minded families) and we could not have chosen a better day to go! The weather was absolutely perfect and the girls were as happy as can be to get to put their bathing suits on and head into the water.  I stuck my feet in the sand, and soaked in all the amazingness of the mamas and littles who were there today.  I watched as the girls got to know new friends and realized (yet again) how truly blessed we are to get to live this incredible life.  After a good four hours of swimming, digging, playing, talking and laughing we decided to head home.  As we were headed up the hill to the parking lot the conversation went like this:

Grace:  "Mama, all those kids homeschool, right?"
Me: "Yes, sweet girl they are!"
Grace: "That is so cool!  We are all so lucky!  This was the best day ever!"

And I would have to agree!

  2. It was the perfect way to spend the day! Rosemarie, you and the boys should come up to Walden Pond! If you do, let us know, we'd love to meet up!!

Amy, it was *such* a great vibe! While we have always been a homeschool family, we are just now getting more connected in the community. Now that friends of the girls are starting to head off to Kindergarten it seemed like a good time to meet some families who school like we do! I have met so many wonderful bloggin' mamas who homeschool and just wish that we all lived closer so we could get together! Hopefully we'll find our tribe soon!
