An Old Fashioned Noel

Friends of ours invited us to join them at Meadowbrook Farm for some good old fashioned Christmas fun.
We could easily live on Meadowbrook Farm. The grounds were amazing!  Our first stop was the little red schoolhouse.  Seriously, don't you just love that they have a little red schoolhouse there, too?!
Inside we discovered that it was even more magical than we could have imagined.  There are little dollhouses made of recycled materials everywhere!  The girls spent a good chunk of time just checking them out. The more you looked, the more you saw.
They easily could have spent the rest of our visit in this corner of the little red schoolhouse.
And as if this place was not already wonderful enough we got to meet Charlie the barn cat.
She was very sweet and clearly loves kids.
After a quick snack (the Viennese Sandwich Cookies were the best!) we headed over to the barn for to see the play.

A play in a barn?!  Fabulous!
After the play we warmed up in the schoolhouse for a moment and then went out to go on the caroling hayride.  Once we returned from the hayride it was rather dark and hard to get any more pictures as the girls wanted to make the craft (birdfeeders made of greens, honey and birdseed) so it was too much to juggle the camera and help them so you'll just have to picture us crafting here. We are so glad that our friends invited us to come along to this magical place!  Everything was just perfect.  And even more wonderful is that the woman who organized this day, Miss Emily, runs art classes and camps.  I see some art classes in their future!

  2. It was such a magical day! So much fun! The cat was definitely one of the girls (especially Grace's) favorite parts too! Such a sweetie she was!

  3. Is this the same barn that you went to at night this fall? You have such amazing places close to you that seem almost magical. I wish we had a place like this where my girls could just sit and inhale the earthy scents of a barn. I would be in heaven!

  4. Oh....and the fact that I said being in a barn would be like heaven for me....that is a clear example of how people can change. NEVER would I have said that 10 years ago.
