Grace chose to make a melted crayon ornament for her yoga teacher. We watched the video online and though it looked easy it truly wasn't.
The toughest part for this ornament was getting the hat and carrot nose the right size! It took some doing but she finally got it figured out.
After two broken ornaments and twenty minutes we finally had one made. She really wanted it more pink than orange but was happy with how it came out overall.
Adding the snowman pieces to the ornament.
Such a simple project but such a sweet one, too!
Grace decided that it would be better to chose a different gift for her dance teacher (rather than struggle with the melted crayon ornament again). With this in mind I shared with her a project I had seen on my friend Abby's blog. She loved it (I knew she would), and really it was a much, much better choice for her dance teacher and the assistant. Emma made a melted snowman ornament for Miss Lauri, too. This was rather fitting seeing how for the recital last June her class danced to "Let It Go"!
Grace did such a fabulous job cutting out the ballerinas and snowflakes.
Oh goodness, how we love these! It was a little tricky to figure out how to wrap them, but a manila file folder and some tissue paper did the trick! xo
Oh my God, the melted snowman just cracked me up! So clever. :-) Very cool with the melted crayons as well. We did salt dough ornaments and homemade soaps for teachers this year... Nevaeh was so excited. We even hand painted burlap gift bags. Thrills all around. :-)
ReplyDeleteSalt dough ornaments and homemade soaps are a great idea! I will file that away for next year! We love homemade gifts! xo

ReplyDeleteYou cannot help but smile at that melted snowman! So simple and easy and everyone who receives them just smiles from ear to ear! Definitely one that I know Alice will love making! xo
