A Bushel And A Peck

We finally made it to the apple orchard today! It had been on our list of must-dos for the last few weeks but we hadn't been able to make it happen before this morning. The weather today was far too good to pass up, so we skipped morning lessons and off we went. We arrived and chose to pick a bushel of apple drops (apples that had fallen from the trees, though you'd never know it as they are pristine and gorgeous) and a peck of apples off the tree. The bushel of apples will be used mostly for applesauce, whereas the peck has been reserved for eating and making into apple crisp and apple cake. A glorious day, a peaceful orchard and so many gorgeous apples made for the perfect start to our day! Now, let the baking and applesauce making begin! xo
