In The Laundry

No worries Gretchen. It's not like I was trying to fold that laundry or anything! xo

{This Moment} Post-Audition Meeting

{This Moment} A Friday ritual. A single photo -no words- capturing a moment from the week. A simple, special, extraordinary moment. A moment I want to pause, savor and remember. Wishing you a lovely end of August and a fun filled (and safe!) Labor Day weekend! xo

Last Wednesday's Crafternoon

Last Wednesday, the girls attended the crafternoon that was being held at the library. There they made these gorgeous planet necklaces to go along with the theme of the Summer Reading Program (outer space). They had an absolutely fabulous time and did such a good job! When Grace was done with her two planet necklaces, the teacher encouraged her to make the birds nest one. What a perfect necklace for our bird loving girl! xo

Cat Nap

No sooner did Grace take her ukulele out of the case than did Gretchen decide it would be the perfect place to take her afternoon nap. xo

Another Year Begins!

And so begins another year of morning lessons! Since the girls have been done since the Tuesday before Memorial Day weekend we are all feeling very ready to get back at it. Looking forward to another incredible year of learning together! xo

Last Weekend Of Summer Vacation

We kicked off the final weekend before all the friends who go to school go back with a trip to the tube slide at Ski Ward. We had never been (to Ski Ward or summer tubing) and since some of our favorite most people invited us to come along we couldn't pass up the chance to check it out!
It was,
as you can see,
a total blast!
On Saturday, the girls and I explored the Museum in the Streets which Marlborough just put in. It's the first of it's kind and really neat (though we never did find the first few. We clearly need to stop by City Hall and get a map of all of them!
The girls and I did feel like we were in an episode of The Gilmore Girls (the one where they make the Stars Hollow Museum, to be exact)!
We spent today in our beloved Boston. The weather was glorious (though it felt much more like late September than late August) and we did many of our favorite things!
Frog Pond carousel.
Swan Boats.
Lunch and gelato (for those not on bikini prep) at Eataly.
And a visit to the Harry Potter store on Newbury Street!

I had a feeling that this summer was going to fly by but I never expected it to pass at warp speed! We had an absolute blast and checked off pretty much everything on our summer to-do list! With our public school friends heading back to school this week, we'll be heading back to lessons too (we're all ready). Dance team auditions take place this week as well. Looking forward to our autumn rhythm (and the cool autumn days) arriving. xo

Pick-Up Day!

And now back to catching up on pictures I never shared!
Happy to be reunited with my babies at the end of their week at Pilgrim Lodge! They had a blast (though Grace did say she was homesick for the first time this year).
On our way home we stopped in Freeport for doughnuts ("It's our tradition, mama!") and to stop by LL Bean and the other shops there.
We absolutely loved this tea cup at the British Goods shop in Freeport. We sadly didn't come home with it but we did buy some British chocolate (yum!) which is better than American chocolate.
After we had walked around, window shopped, and had lobster rolls for lunch we continued out journey back home. It didn't take long before both girls were asleep. They slept the whole way back and then for thirteen hours that night! The sign of a good week, indeed! xo

{This Moment} Three Bathing Beauties And One Dragonfly

{This Moment} A Friday ritual. A single photo -no words- capturing a moment from the week. A simple, special, extraordinary moment. A moment I want to pause, savor and remember. Wishing you all a lovely last few days of summer break before the new school year begins! xo

Meanwhile, back in Massachusetts....

With the girls away, David and I had a rare week to ourselves! He took the entire week off from work (well, except when he had to head to Northeastern to teach that is) which gave us plenty of time to remember what life was like pre-girls. The highlight of our week was out trip into Boston on Friday. We walked around our beloved city, window shopped, had a delicious lunch and then picked up some Boston Cream Pie from Flour Bakery to bring home for (an early anniversary) dessert. It was a perfect ending to our staycation! xo
