Meanwhile, back in Massachusetts....

With the girls away, David and I had a rare week to ourselves! He took the entire week off from work (well, except when he had to head to Northeastern to teach that is) which gave us plenty of time to remember what life was like pre-girls. The highlight of our week was out trip into Boston on Friday. We walked around our beloved city, window shopped, had a delicious lunch and then picked up some Boston Cream Pie from Flour Bakery to bring home for (an early anniversary) dessert. It was a perfect ending to our staycation! xo 

Earlier This Week

Our week began with a trip to Great Wolf Lodge New England. Along with our friends, Sarah and Ben, we'd hatched a plan last summer to take our families there for a couple of days this autumn. Great Wolf Lodge had recently opened here in Massachusetts and there was a deal that we just couldn't pass up. Rooms were booked, plans were made, and the kids were only brought into the loop last week. Needless to say, Sunday could not arrive quickly enough! So much fun was had that we returned home possibly more tired after these few days than we had been when we'd gotten home from a week at Disney this past August! Between the waterpark, the low (and high) ropes courses, bowling, MagiQuest (and then more time at the water park and more time playing MagiQuest) we definitely got our money's worth. Being there with friends just made the experience even more fabulous, and we look for many more family getaways together for our families for years to come! xo

Staycation Week!

Just a quick note to let everyone know that Dave is on vacation this week, so we are enjoying a week of day trips and family fun!  We have decided to treat this week as if we are away, and therefor I won't be blogging this week, but will return next week with all sorts of pictures and stories from this fun filled week!  Have a great week everyone!
