On Thanksgiving Day

The girls kicked off Thanksgiving day with some pumpkin sheet cake (dessert breakfast, anyone?!) and the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade.
Then we met up with Grandma Joan and Grandpa Ron at Old Sturbridge Village.

From there it was home to make the meal!
 And there was lots,
 and lots,
 and lots of Racko playing.
 Finally our feast was ready!
We were a small but mighty group this year! It's always lovely to have the entire family here but the small gatherings are just as wonderful too!

For those who celebrated we hope you day was full of gratitude for your many blessings and time spent with those you love most. xo

Happy Thanksgiving!

Lord, thank you for this special day
When we bow our heads in thanksgiving
and consider our many blessings.
We thank you for our health and our homes,
and the beauty all around us.
We thank you for answering our prayers,
and for knowing what we need even before we ask.
Most of all, we thank you for surrounding us with the gifts of family and friends-
for their laughter, trust and love.
Please bless those who can't be with us
yet remain close in our hearts,
and continue to bless and protect all.
This is our loving prayer to you on this Thanksgiving Day.
Amen.

I found this prayer on a Hallmark card years ago and we have said it before each Thanksgiving meal ever since.
Wishing you a happy and blessed Thanksgiving! We hope this day gave you a chance to reconnect and spend time with those you hold most dear and to spend time reflecting on all you are blessed with! xo

Friendsgiving

These sweet girls have dinner together every Tuesday night after dance team practice and before lyrical. This week we moms thought it would be fun to organize a friendsigivng meal for them! They had such a blast and have asked to do a meal like this once a month for the rest of the dance year! I love this sweet group of girls (and their mamas) so much! So very thankful for our dance family! xo

In Which Grace And Emma Go To Broadway!

This past Saturday, along with Dave's parents, we took the girls to see Frozen on Broadway! This was their first time seeing a Broadway show and I have to say it didn't disappoint! Frozen was the perfect first show for our girls to see (Frozen is "very us") and the six of us absolutely loved it! The magic of Disney was at it's best with this one, especially so during "Let It Go"! The costumes, the sets, the amazing actors, the beautiful dancing and the incredible singing were all absolute perfection! Thank you Grandma Joan and Grandpa Ron for such a special day for our girls (and for us too)! We are so very thankful/grateful/blessed to have shared this very special first of theirs with you! xo

Last Saturday

This past Saturday some of our most favorite people came to visit! Russ, Patricia, Alice and Patricia's mom journied down from New York state to spend the day with us (and the weekend in Massachusetts. And since it was Gnomevember at Tower Hill we started our wonderful day together there!
Gnome scavenger hunt.
Counting gnomes.
After our trip to Tower Hill and a stop at New City for ice cream, the girls went swimming at the pool and then everyone came to our house for dinner. Lasagna, salad, molasses cookies and a delicious chocolate cake (made by Alice!) was the perfect ending to a fabulous day! Thanks for coming to visit, dear friends! xo

From A Grateful Nation

On this Veterans Day we would like to take the time to thank all of those who have served our country. We extend our deepest thanks to every man and woman who believed so completly and so deeply in our country that they would choose to answer the call, take up arms and defend our many freedoms.

Thank you, especially, to my father and my brother, as well as to both of my grandfathers (now, 101 and 99) and to my uncles, who all believed so fiercely in this country that they would be willing to risk their lives for it,. It is because of the service of patriots like them that America continues remain a beacon of hope and freedom even in these times of great division.
