In Search Of Crocus

This afternoon we went on a walk. We needed to pick up the car from the mechanic and decided that we'd take our time getting there in hopes of discovering some crocus and other signs of spring along the way.
No crocus were spotted by the time we reached the mechanic. "Couldn't we keep looking, mama?" "Just a little longer?" "Please?" Just as we decided to go a bit further we saw a kind, old gentleman up ahead. As we passed him we wished him a good afternoon. He wished us the same. We walked just a bit further when I heard him call out to us. We turned around to see what he needed, and it was then that he offered each girl a golden dollar coin and wished us a happy Easter. We wished him the same, said our thank-yous and good-byes and went on our way. It was truly a lovely addition to our day. Now, if we could just find some crocus....
 And then we did!
And there was much rejoicing in the land!
We noticed some daffodils making their presence known, too.
After some time playing in the trees and visiting with the crocus we decided that we best head to the mechanic to get the car. Our mission complete we headed off to finish our walk and revel just a little bit more in this glorious day and the signs of spring all around us! xo

  1. What a beautiful story with the old man! I love it. I think today we might take a tiny little walk to clear our heads and see if we can find some crocus.

    1. I know! We were trying to figure out what the plural of crocus was too! He was such a kind man. It's nice to happen upon that in this day and age! And yes, surprising how much the snow has melted given how much we had! xo

    1. And the funny thing is that this isn't even as small of a town as I'd like it to be (or that I grew up in) and was totally not something I expected would ever happen! I'm so glad that we found our crocus too! It was looking bleak for awhile there. Love to hear that your crocus have arrived too! Hope you and your sweet family had a lovely Easter weekend! xo
