Everything Is Awesome!

Last night instead of our usual Pizza and Family Movie Night we surprised the girls with a trip to Brick Fest Live! Four hours of all things Lego had my three Lego fanatics totally in heaven! Cars were made and raced in the Brick Fest Derby (Emma's car even came in first place!), planes were built and included in the city, mini-golf was played, books were read, Emmett from the Lego Movie was met, minifigs were chosen (Princess UniKitty for Grace and Wonder Woman - with lasso- for Emma), and time was spent in the giant pit of red Legos (seriously, never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I'd see so many red Legos in one spot)! I was impressed that Dave didn't come home with three times the amount of stuff that he came home with (he really showed great restraint) and we were all surprised at how fast the time seemed to fly by while we were there. What a great event and a fun way to kick off the weekend! xo

Family Night

Anyone who knows us knows that Friday nights are sacred family time. It's rare for us to plan a night with friends on a Friday night, or for one of us to be away from the family that night. Sure, there are times were it can't be avoided, but on the whole those times are very rare. Needless to say, Friday is routinely when we make pizza and watch a movie. Unless of course it's summer and the concerts are in full swing, in which case we swap out the movie for the concert. So, with this in mind, and with the idea that it would be fun to branch out beyond movies (in the non-summer) we have decided to rename this night Family Night. It's a good night this Family Night of ours and I look forward to seeing all its variations for many years to come! xo
