This Afternoon

Emma painted the owl Miss Heather from Nature School gave each of the girls as their final project of the nature school year today. We were all super impressed with how beautifully it came out! xo

Nature School Goes Virtual

Like everything else Nature School has gone online too! And while that feels a little odd, to have Nature School not in nature it was super neat to hear how excited Miss Heather and all the girls were to see each other today! xo

At Nature School

I love that they get to spend time each month with this sweet group of girls out in the woods exploring and learning! What an incredible way to learn and grow up! xo

Happy First Day (Of Nature School)!

We were so grateful that the weather today was so much nicer than yesterday! Where yesterday required cabin socks and the warmth of the electric blanket, today was all about short sleeves and no jackets! They had a wonderful first day of Nature School and are looking forward to next month's class already! xo

Last Day Of Nature School!

Lovely thank-you cards and gifts for our beloved Miss Heather and a beautiful day (a gift from Mother Nature) for this last day of the Nature School year! Can't believe that this year is over already. It was another incredible year full of so much fun and adventure and copious hours spent exploring in the woods! Thank you, Heather, for this incredible class. The girls are looking forward to the first day already! xo

Thank You, Mother Nature!

So thankful that the bitter cold temps have finally left and that they can be outside again! These two sweet souls, who have never been stir crazy before, were really struggling with not being able to play outside these last couple of weeks. Thankfully Mother Nature gifted us with two glorious winter days so far this week! They got to spend the entire day outside at Nature School yesterday (with what might have been the most perfect winter weather on a Nature School day yet!) and a good chunk of time outside today after lessons were done. Tomorrow, we're putting lessons aside for the day and heading to Wachusett for even more time spent outside, and their first runs of this ski season, too! xo

Last Day Of Nature School!

It's hard to believe that it's the last day of Nature School already (and that it was chilly enough today that they needed their fleece jackets)! This year sure has flown by! The girls had an absolutely wonderful time and are already counting the days until Nature School begins again in September. Thank you, Miss Heather, for another fabulous year! We hope you have a lovely summer! xo

On Winter Solstice

Ice lanterns. Solstice gifts for the birds. A new sun tree topper (to replace the one we made four years ago). Nature School ornament making class. And lanterns hung in our Solstice tree on the longest night of the year. The last one is a new addition to our Winter Solstice celebration and one that was inspired by the Little Bear Winter Solstice episode. We have loved Little Bear for almost ten years now, yet never thought to hang our lanterns in the tree until this year. Oh, how I wish this idea had occurred to me years ago!

Our celebration yesterday was absolutely lovely. Quite possibly the most lovely one we've had. It was such a perfect way to welcome the winter and the return of the sun! xo
