Yesterday, the girls and I, along with Mary and Molly, piled in to Mary's car (since we still have only one and Dave needed to use it) and headed to Connecticut to attend the
Daffodil Festival in Meriden. How it is that we had never been before is beyond me. The town I grew up in was not far from Meriden, and they have been holding this festival for about as long as I have been alive, yet we knew nothing of it. Crazy! It was the perfect day for a road trip, and an even more perfect day for a parade and festival!
First stop: Panera!
Bagels for us mamas, and Chocolate Chip Muffin Tops for the girls.
We're almost there.
Emma and I, ready to head to the parade.
The girls really got into the whole gather-the-candy-at-the-parade thing.
We came home with a ton!
First the Dunkin' Donuts Mobile, next the Buffet Bus!
Uncle Grant and Emma ready to head to the festival.
Grandpa and his buddy.
The girls had their first cotton candy ever at the festival.
Emma took the longest to even try it but once she did it was a hit (with both girls).
These two have a mutual love of dessert.
Off to the rides!
The weather was incredible, the ride to CT was super smooth and everyone had a fabulous time.
I think we may have just started a new tradition!
Have a wonderful rest of the weekend, friends.
We'll see you tomorrow.
