Today was our first farm share pick up of the new CSA season! The girls were so excited to be back at the farm! They loved putting all the items into our bag and picking strawberries and flowers. We ended up being at the farm for a little over an hour and a half. It's so easy to loose track of time when you are exploring and learning and soaking in all the beauty and peace that comes with a farm visit. It was the perfect beginning to another wonderful season at the farm!
Last year was our first year with a CSA and my girls learned so much from the experience. It began our family's quest to change eating habits away from processed foods and towards whole foods. I get excited on our pick up day, and look forward to the meals we will create together.
ReplyDeleteLove your pictures!
How wonderful to go to the farm to pick up your CSA, rather than have it delivered as some do around here. I'm sure it's quite easy to lose track of time, it looks like a lovely farm!
ReplyDeleteJessica, this is our third year with a CSA and I cannot imagine our summers (and fall) without it now! It all started when I read the Barbara Kingsolver book Animal, Vegetable, Miracle! Totally life changing! We love our weekly trips to the farm! They have been some of the best teachable moments!
ReplyDeleteRural Revival, We love being able to go to the farm to get our share. It is one of the many reasons that we chose this farm. I have friends that pick their boxes up at a drop off location, but to me being able to go to the farm, to see the animals, to get in the fields, is what has made this experience so invaluable to all of us!
