It just goes to show that the best toys are ones that don't cost anything and are often found right out your back door! Happy last day of November, friends!

Zoo Lights
We went to Zoo Lights at the Stone Zoo for the first time the Friday after Thanksgiving. We had not been to the zoo in a really long time ('cause as a family of animal lovers it's hard to stand there just staring at animals in an enclosure when you'd much rather be interacting with them. But that's another post for another time) but going at night to see the lights seemed like a nice twist on "just going to the zoo". It was really neat to try to find the animlas in each of their habitats and figure out what they were doing at night. We spent a good long while watching the very silly otter play, swim and just be all around funny. He seemed to really love having an audience! And we loved getting to meet a reindeer, though we were sad we were not able to pet her. It was a lovely way to kick off the holiday season!

We're Not Lyin', We're Fryin'
I never thought I would see the day where we would be frying our Thanksgiving turkey but that is exactly what we did this Thanksgiving, and I think it's safe to say that it was so delicious that we will be frying our turkey for years to come! We were all a little skeptical of what we were getting into (even though anyone who had fried a turkey previously had told us it was amazing) but once we all took that first bite there was no going back. We easily could have fried an even bigger turkey, though I suspect that even if we had we still would have been left with very few turkey leftovers (we have tons of side dish leftovers, still). So, our usually traditional New England Thanksgiving had a lovely southern spin on it, and probably will for years to come (or whenever the weather is as lovely as this past Thanksgivings was)!
