We arrived at Logan at 5:30am and got to watch the sun come up.This was another first for the girls. A truly spectacular way to being this adventure!
With loads of time to pass we found a place to have breakfast and were able to watch the planes come in as the sun rose more.
Good-bye Boston!
We packed their backpacks with all sorts of fun things to do on the plane. We included some new Lego friends (that they had been dreaming of) and a small Frozen coloring/sticker book and a new box of crayons (and yes even their knitting). We didn't let them look inside until we were at the airport. They were thrilled with their new treats!
The Legos were a total hit!
Hello, Florida!
The girls were in total awe of being on a plane! They loved being in the clouds ("I have always wanted to know what it was like to fly! I feel like a bird or a fairy, mama!"). The flight was smooth and we landed about a half an hour sooner than expected. We picked up the rental car and headed on our way to the next surprise for the girls- a trip to Clearwater Marine Aquarium- home of Winter the dolphin!
*I have so many more pictures and stories from our trip that I cannot wait to share with you! There is just so much goodness that I will most likely post two blogposts per day for a while (one trip related and one about what we are up to each day this week). I hope you'll check back and see both posts each day! xo
Welcome home my friend. I didn't realize you hadn't told the girls, they must have been over the moon. Can't wait to hear more about your trip. xo
ReplyDeleteThanks, Kim! It's great to be back! We had a fabulous time though it was lovely to come home too! The humidity was just too much for us northerners! :) xo
DeleteWhat a fun adventure! I had been wondering about the quietness of this space so I am very happy it was due to an anticipated family trip! Looking forward to your updates.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Pattianne! It's great to be back! I had toyed with blogging while we were away but figured it was probably safer (and smarter) to wait till we were back! :) xo
DeleteOh and I meant to say, yes, we decided only to give them bits of info as it was needed. We didn't want to overwhelm them. And if truth be known they had never asked to go to Disney. I think with not being in school it really wasn't on their radar (though they knew we had been there on our honeymoon and a few times after). I have to admit that I am impressed that no one spilled the beans to them before we left! :)
DeleteWhat fun for you all. I bet the girls had a wonderful time. We were meant to go via Disney World on our way to living in Boston, but due to last minute stuff with our move over here, we ran out of time to go there. We can’t wait to take our kids there. Looking forward to reading about your adventure. Reminds me I need to get into blogging about living in Boston! Jacinta :)
ReplyDeleteIsn't Boston fabulous?! We love to head in though don't go as much as we'd like! I am so glad that we waited for as long as we did to do this trip! The girls were at fabulous ages for it and we all had a truly amazing time! xo
