A Birthday Gathering

When it came to Grace's tenth birthday gathering, we knew that we wanted it to be something that was "very Grace."As a family we had tossed out lots of ideas but nothing seemed "right". For this gathering, Grace really wanted it to be a drop off party and she wanted it to be small. Those were her only requirements. Meeting the first requirement was easy enough, but trying to find a place that's willing to do a small gathering is another story. And then one day it hit me- maybe our favorite flower shop would be willing to host this gathering and teach the girls the art of flower arranging. It couldn't hurt to ask I figured, so unbeknownst to Grace I sent an email to Heidi to see this idea would be possible. She wrote back saying she'd love to do this for us,  and I then shared this wonderful idea with Grace. She was over the moon! Her tenth birthday gathering at the flower shop?! What could be better?!
We decided that instead of having a cake at her gathering it would be more fun to walk down to our favorite ice cream shop! It was fun to walk in there with balloons and flowers and Grace wearing the birthday tiara! Everything about this day was so very Grace. Flowers, ice cream and a small group of friends truly made for a most fabulous tenth birthday celebration! Thank you to everyone who came and to everyone who made this wonderful day possible (espeically Heidi at The Purple Violet)! It was a birthday gathering that will be remembered and treasured for years to come! xo
