We discovered that the baby robins have fledged! Birdie Sanders and his siblings are now grown up and have left the nest! While we are sad that they have flown off, we are proud of them too and hope that they will return and raise their own babies here next year!
In sad news, two of the five House Finch eggs are gone. We suspect that a Blue Jay may have taken them. Nature can be so cruel sometimes. We are all wondering how Mother and Father Finch are feeling about the loss of their eggs and are eagerly awaiting the hatching of these three. xo
I cry every time I watch a David Attenborough special- it's always so sad but I try to remember that every creature has their own young to feed. Gosh, one year we watched a Springwatch in the UK and a baby owl ate one of its siblings. I'm still not over that trauma!! Loving the robin's name though! ;)
