Saturday 10:30am.

After I dropped Grace off yesterday I went to Panera to have some breakfast and work on my research paper while I waited for Dave's parents and Emma to arrive in Sturbridge. They had wanted to see her before heading back to New Jersey and since I was out there I had them bring Emma with them and met them there. We heard a wonderful lecture about the Quakers in New England before heading over to Freeman Farm where Grace and some of the other ladies were working that day. The day was beautiful but very cold, especially when the wind picked up! It was lovely to get to spend some time outside though and I am grateful we all had lots of layers to keep us warm! xo

A Little More Christmas

Dave's parents arrived yesterday to spend a few days with us.  Ever since the Christmas I was pregnant with Emma they come up during the holiday week so that we can have Christmas together and spend some time making memories.  They got here yesterday just as we were arriving home from running some errands, and once everyone was settled it was decided that then was a good time to open a few gifts from Grandma and Grandpa.
This year the girls were all about the Magic Cabin catalog.  They poured over it (and any other copy that arrived) for weeks.  Emma would point to this doll and say "my doll?"  She was so excited to see her wish come true!
Just like Em had wished for her doll, Grace spent lots of time dreaming about many things from that lovely catalog.  One of them was this item.  I love that she has a love for hanging the wash on the line already!
The girls introduce their dolls to each other.  It was fitting that Dave's parents gave Emma her doll as they had given Grace hers on her second Christmas (the Christmas I was pregnant with Em).
Each girl is now the proud recipient of their own lovely cup, plate and bowl.
Setting up the marble run.
This toy is a huge hit and will clearly be loved for years to come!
We ended our night with dinner at The Wayside Inn.  The dessert is always the best part!

Trot Trot To Boston...

Dave's parents stayed with us until mid-day Saturday.  We started our Friday off with a delicious breakfast at The Wayside Inn,

Followed by a trip to the Boston Children's Museum.
Grace got to see what it would be like to be on TV.
While Grace was practicing her hair dressing skills,
Em went shopping.
And of course, no trip to the BCM is complete without some bubble play!
We had such a blast at the museum!  Ice cream was requested so off to Cabot's we went.  We could not possibly pass up the chance to have a snack there what with it being on our way home and all.  It truly was the cherry on top of the sundae of a most fabulous day!
