Solstice Celebration

A Winter Solstice Blessing
May the light of your heart touch those that you love.
May you release all that no longer suits you to make room for renewal and rebirth.
May Father Sun warm your days and remind you of his return.
May Mother Earth grant you continued sustenance and provisions.
May Grandmother Moon and the Star People guide you through the night.
May compassion, gratitude and forgiveness be in every breath throughout your days.

"Happy Winter Solstice, Gramma!"

My mom came up to hang with the girls while David and I attended a Christmas party Sunday night.  The next day, as mom began to gather her things to head home, Grace quietly came to me and asked if she could wrap a snowflake "for Gramma for the Solstice."  "Of course!" was my reply and we quietly headed upstairs while both Gramma and Emma were busy.  She chose the box and the paper and ever so carefully placed the precious snowflake she made inside.  Once she was satisfied, we closed the box and she headed downstairs carrying it behind her back.  She waited patiently while Gramma finished her drawing with Em, and then, with much excitement handed her the box and proudly said "Happy Winter Solstice, Gramma!"  Such a sweet holiday moment, and one that will certainly be cherished forever.

The Fourth Light of Advent

The fourth light of Advent is the light of humankind.
The light of love, the light of thought, to give and to understand.

As we are just days away from Solstice and Christmas we hope that you can find peace, love, hope and joy in these final busy days before the holidays arrive.  Take time to enjoy the joy, dear ones.  And know that being present is truly the best present you could ever give.
